Default LS2 block VS 5.3 for boost.

Hey, I've been collecting parts for ever now it's time to take action. But...someone told me I'de be best to get rid of my LS2 block (I have 317 with patriot gold springs and a TU1 Cam for this) and get a 5.3 cuz the LS2 is to weak?!?!?!
The idea is to get the most RELIABLE power with my turbo (turbonetics T/C78). I also have rod bolts not yet instaled.
Should I sell the LS2 or what...Thanks

The ls2 block is not weak by any means. Theirs plenty of people making good power.
I say if you Wana go forged stick with the ls2. You'll make more power with less boost hence the bigger CI.

Stick with the LS2 and use top shelf parts.

Hey man! Glad to see you are getting her up and rolling soon!

I say stick with the LS2 block as well. IIRC, fireball went 7.99 with that block! Like the others have said, less boost as well.

Nothing wrong with the ls2, my only Concern would be what your goals are. That tc is.going to choke up on the ls2 if you push it

Thanks so much guys. I felt kinda sick with the thought of not using the LS2.
Here in Ottawa Canada it's pretty..sorta..exotic i guess. Progress has been slow now with 2 kids but I got a good routine. Kids are in bed by 730 and the wife has her "shows" to watch so I go in the shop. Just started the mini tubs and tail panel swap...new floor pans...SFC..the car is an 80 T/A t-top but getting the full 77 treatment.
So with the LS2 and my set up without meth whats a good safe boost #?

1. Sell me your LS2 for $35 so I can put it in the camaro
2. Build your 5.3 for boost.

All problems solved.

Boosted LS2's don't make any power! Go with the much heavier iron block.
