Finally got the car out Sat. for some test hits.
1st pass went 200' to make sure everything was working ok.
2nd pass rolled into it went to 330' and blew charge pipe off.
3rd pass went 1.21 60' and had to lift shortly after. Car drove to the right with the wheels up.
4th pass 1.23 60' ... 5.10 @ 143 mph
We have a few things to work on and should have it back out next weekend.
Thanks to everyone who helped us get this thing done and out racing !!

you can have a 346 that makes 400 na hp with 20 lbs of boost or you can have a 450 that makes 900 na on 10 lbs of boost. who runs faster et's assuming geared and tired correctly with the same weight and chasis....
Ill take the 450 cubes.
if my 460 only made 1100 on 10lbs i would be pissed.

I wouldn't go past that then! Don't need catastrophic failure.
People don't understand boost is just a resistance measurement. lets post this question

Hp/tq is Hp/tq...if it makes 16lbs on a 460 it's going to make as much horsepower as it would on a 390-400 with 23-25lbs. but I bet it makes more average power and torque on the bigger motor and with a high first gear and well matched converter and rear gear it should be easier to handle off the line and let the torque of the motor do the work and just worry about clicking the shifter into high gear and that's it. Not having to wind it up on the line to make boost to get it to 60/330 will be much easier power management wise, at least I would think.
I bet the high gear pull in this thing is insane.
