PUNISHER TA
Im interested in seeing the results of this, Ive been really thinking about throwing a D1 on my car, just to keep me happy till I can afford my next build.

but Im not sure of the scfm rating of the D1 but my 454 eats ~1000 at 7000RPM

but if you can build ~10psi, I might be able to build 8ish...

8ish may be possible. My d1 is maxed out right now at 10 11ish.
Anyone else got any advise on injectors ?

Nice numbers. I'm surprised how early you ran out of injector, I've seen 100 rwhp more with 60's, but on a turbo combination, I would not have guessed it was that much of a difference though.

Should be a beast when you can get it into the revs.

Are you running the stock fuel pressure regulator or an adjustable one? Nice numbers by the way, I bet that's extremely fun to drive.

That might be why you're running out of injector, it's the same issue I was seeing. Instead of getting a true 60+ psi of fuel pressure, it ends up being rail pressure minus whatever boost pressure you're seeing. I think most guys in here are running boost reference fuel pressure regulators that add 1psi for every psi of boost.

I need to find out what exactly that entails and do the same thing.

Also your regulator is in the tank, which is a long ways from the rail. Get an adjustable and place it near the rails.

Since it helps the OP and myself, what else needs to be done to run a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator? I've got Lonnie's twin in tank setup connected to stock lines up to new rails and 60lb injectors and ran out of injector last year. Granted, I was pushing 15psi of boost and was running high 10s afr, so I'm sure I could get some more room out of the injectors if I increased the pressure at the rail with the increased boost and also by leaning it out to mid 11s.

I tried searching but wasn't succesful.

Interested in this^^^^! I'll b looking into it. Im leaving Sunday to go out of state on a job for about a month so I'll have time to look into it and order parts. So the car won't b back on the dyno untill I make it back, which then I'm sure it'll b a 100 degrees here lol. On a good note I have a few races setup for this Friday night. I'll try to get some videos

wow, I'm surprised you're on the stock regulator and lines. The reason you need an adjustable regulator, is because of this:

you're injector nozzle is inside of the manifold. there is 10+ psi of pressure in the manifold, which means 10+ psi on the face of your injector.

you have 50psi fuel pressure trying to push against the 10 psi which means you're only really getting 40psi worth of fuel pressure.

an adjustable regulator adds one psi of fuel for every psi of boost, to compensate for this issue.

to run a new regulator, id recommend you ditch all the factory lines. run a -8 feed line from the pump to the regulator, and then from the reg to the fuel rail. Russell makes adapters from the EFI fittings to AN fittings.

The bottom of the reg will have a return port on it. run a -6 line back to the pump, where there is a return line fitting.

^^^What he said

Or you can run the line to the rail first then add a return line off the end port of the stock rail, then from the rail to the regulator. And like he said there is a return port off the regulator that you run back to the tank.

Or if you have after market rails, run the line to the rails first, then the from the rails to the regulator, then back to the tank.

Also you need to have a vac line run to the regulator so it can adjust the pressure on a 1:1 ratio with boost.

What fuel pressure are you running and are you running a boost a pump. I have made over 900hp corrected on 60's with a boost a pump and 75psi fuel pressure,-8an feed line -10 return line, aftermarket fuel rails, on a race tune. 60 psi is what I run the car on all the time and I have a toggle for the second pump when I am racing. I have two 340lph pumps in tank

O, and I almost forgot. The cheapest place to buy 80lb injectors that are flow tested and that are high-impedance injectors is from buyfordracing.com $359.00 bucks
