I am swapping an LY6 (l92 heads) in to my 87 Buick Turbo t. I want to keep the 200-4R trans that it currently has. With the 6 cyl it was putting down 500 rwhp. I intend to stay in the 550 range. I don't want to be the quickest car, just have something fun and reliable.
With the vast selection of T4 .96 76mm turbos out there (on 3, masterpower, turbonetics etc) it seems logical to go with one. I have a cam that's 232/236 .598/.601 114, supporting prc springs, ls3 intake, 65 lb fast injectors, building my own truck manifold hot side, power stroke intercooler and likely going with holley hp efi)
My question is if I have too much engine for the turbo. I don't want a terribly inefficient set up. I will be running 7lbs to start and learn the car and tuning.
I appreciate any input!
