Yeah, I wanted to do twin 60-1's with Rick back in September, but he wasn't biting, wanted to keep it single for the moment...so I ended up with my current set-up. Glad to see its working for ya! Congrats, I imagine a year from now there will be several on the street pulling mid to upper 11's.

I bet 13.3 @ 115
Street tires (18's) you will not be able to floor first gear, you'll lose a LOT of time there.

Sound clips or video of the kit on your car? Will you have a camera at the track. It would be cool to see it go down the 1/4

I never saw the point of this kit. I say take the time and do a Twin Turbo, or large single turbo. INSIDE the engine bay. Congrats on how the car feels, but you might as well have just bought heads and cam. Bigger gain, better times. Turbos are awesome, but you have to use them the right way. I'll never deny that turbos are one of my favorite things... Being that I spool two of em every day. @ 15PSI

the point is for a simple cheap way of turboing the car. I don't think drag racing is his main interest otherwise why have 18s. Just like yours must not be drag racing either other wise why have a car/boat.

unlike mustang nation, choices are limited and prices are HIGH for kits. at least for now. also i guarantee you won't see a milage increase from h/c.

Any time you make more power, you are going to give something up. A turbo isn't a magical device that will help your fuel economy. It's a restriction in the exhaust path, which will hurt VE.

You are absolutely right to not expect fuel mileage gains from a H/C. But don't expect them from a turbo either.

I personally don't like the idea of having a turbo in the back under the car, that'd make me nervous if I hit a nice pothole of something. But, it does keep the turbo from heating up the engine bay. But, you have to plumb the air back forward.

I have a Turbo Tech 60-1 kit, and am preparing to install it. It will not be a fast install. But I know what I can expect. I am admittedly curious on how this kit is going to do.

The numbers will tell.

im sure down the line someone will build some kind of "cage" to protect their turbo or put a smaller gas tank so it can sit a little higher, and then it will be protected just like any other turbo.

No offense to anyone, but looking at all the pics, there seems to be no way the turbo itself will get any kind of damage, nor cause any. Unless your a complete idiot and cant drive worth a ****. I mean, the Fbody is not an off-road 2x4 vehicle. Maybe the pipe going up front, but I cant recall this many ppl being so concerned over how low their headers sit. If you run your car over something high enough to hit this pipe, then you'd probably high center the thing anyway.
Yeah sorry for ranting, but its kinda old and until someone has a problem with the "low" piping or "rear mounting" then lets let it go.

Um, how many people have these kits? I don't see why people can't voice their concerns, not bashing it. I for one want to see how it does.

ChevyThunder17, yeah I know what you are talking about. Sorry for my opinion. Seems to be more, concerns about the turbo sitting so low, or being so close to the gas tank...then anything else. Oh well. I'm butting out.

i agree...... i stopped rock climbing with my SS awhile ago
Seriously, do any of you people actually worry about dragging the bottoms of your mosers?.. which looks to be lower than the turbo.

Hey man, I am not saying anything other than I have a concern, and am waiting to see the results. I don't see the proximity to the gas tank as being an issue. The exhaust runs right there too. And at 2-5 lbs I cannot see the turbo getting THAT hot. Plus there's the metal heat shield around the tank.

All I know is that on Long Island, the roads SUCK. That kit would make me nervous. Not bashing, not hating.
