Since you're going LSx block, should try to get as many cubes as possible without sacrificing the effienciency of the combo. 427ci seems to be what most go with, thats the ci mine is also.

4.125 minimum bore for the ls7 heads, 4.000 stroke max on the lsx block = 427cid.

Good question, LME and a few others are having good results with a large bore short stroke configuration. LME builds a 388" motor I think its a 4.125 bore X 3.622 stroke. I personally would go this route only because when you go 427+ it takes a huge exhaust side of the turbo (turbine wheel & housing) to keep from having big backpressure issues.

I personally don't think a off the shelf 88mm turbo is going to flow enough exhaust for a LS7 head on a 427.

So the 388 wouldn't have an issue with the 88mm maybe with some tsp heads or AFR reaching the 1100 hp rear wheel

I'm not sure about the turbo but not a problem for the motor. Mighty Mouse was making 1300rwhp on a 370 W/GT91 turbo T4 housing.
