Default Engine sits high after BMR turbo k-member Install

Put in a turbo k-member from BMR and the engine sits so high my victor jr with elbow doesn't fit under the cowl like it's supposed to. Anyone else ever deal with this?

Any ideas?

I got the poly mounts that you drill out your stock ones and put the poly things in the middle.

No. I put the BMR k-member in with the new motor. I got this setup from that 6061.com guy and he sold it on the fact that it fit under the cowl. He had pics of it on a camaro fitting under the cowl. Now, I thought that the BMR k-member would have the mounting points in the same place as the stock one did. Maybe that was a bad assumption.

How far are you away from fitting? Could always toss a couple washers between the body and the k-member to raise it up a bit. Would need adjustable coil overs to keep the fender height correct.

Is there a part number on the BMR K-member anywhere? If so look it up, see what mounts are required for it. You might have to get solid ones???

Did you have the Elbow on the car before. I remember hearing awhile back that edlebrock change the Vic JR a couple years ago that it is actually a little taller now. Not ,much but enough that the Aarons elbow doesn't clear anymore. I had to massage my hood and a little and shim down the K member

Well, I figured pics would be best.

There's too much there to just space down I think. I could do a combo of spacing and cutting, but then I probably need a cowl hood. I could do some mods of the motor mounts or the bmr k-member motor mount area. I could go back to an LS6 intake, like I had.

you will not need a cowl hood but you might have to notch the underside of the hood. All I did to mine was bend the lip on the cowl and put one washer between the k member and frame. Then I also cut a small notch in the underside of my hood and it fits just fine

How far can I safely drop the k-member. I have adjustable QA1s on the front.

I ran 1/2 inch spacers and 3/4 inch spacers between body and k member back in my mustang days.

I have the same k member, and i have the vic jr with a 6160 elbow and a nick willams 102 and i had to trim some of the cowl but not much. and mine rubs slightly under the factory ss hood only on the welds of the elbow though.
I also have solid motor mounts may be part of it.

Well, it'd be more like hack up the cowl, but I'm definitely considering it. I called BMR and they wanted pics of the install, so I did that and I'm waiting to hear back. If I am left with what I have right now, I'll probably space and hack...call it a day.

i have a umi kmember had to cut up the cowl, you can trim the cowl and plastic cover with a dremel you wont need to cut too much out
