Decided to take the car out Friday night for a bit. Beat on it pretty good and it never skipped a beat. Starting to find the limits of the injectors I think. They are the FIC 127's and the base pressure is pretty low. I will probably crank up the base pressure a bit and go from there. Also, as you can tell she's a little fat at these boost levels. Need to work on leaning it out.

Sounds good man. I will keep you posted on them.

I've looked at the S&W cages as well. I need to get something in it for sure though.

Hard to tell in a picture but the hoop and halo are very tight fitting
For less than 500 bucks shipped including swingouts its hard to beat if you have a welder and a notcher

That looks good. Sounds like some of the ends are notched already though?

Time for a little update. I started tearing the car down a bit in preparation for a cage and cleaning up the engine bay a bit. A somewhat local guy is going to do the cage. He's a great fab guy and has done a couple of FBody cages locally. It's just going to be mild steel with no swingouts for now. I am sure I will hate it but it's part of the game and I need to start thinking safety.

Also, I was cheap and picked up some eBay seats and brackets for $300 shipped. The seats themselves are actually pretty nice. However, they sit too high for my taste and too close to the door for some reason. I need to pick up some shorter bolts so I don't have to run the spacers under the sliders and that should get it to sit down another 3/4" if not more. I will modify the brackets a bit to slide the seat closer to center console as well. Right now it feels like it's too far towards the door when sitting in there. Another note, the stitch pattern was different between the seats and when I contacted the seller they told me to ship the one back that didn't match the picture they had. Anyway, I asked if they would refund some money on the seats and I ended up getting $80 back. No one will ever notice once the seats are installed.

The next, probably not so smart thing I did, was to sell off the old turbo. I am going to get a Billet wheel'd S480 96mm 1.32 and see what happens. If anything, it will be for future power and ET goals.

I'll continue to update things as I progress this winter. I am going to blow through my allocated funds this winter pretty quickly.

If you drive the car at all on the street get swingouts! I take my door bars out completely unless I am at the track.

It is a huge hassle with them in. A removable steering wheel will help though when the door bars are in place.

Forgot to mention I got a wheel already with a quick release hub. I may re-think the swingout thing anyway as I do drive the car a lot.

Forgive me, as I've followed this thread intermittently throughout its lifecycle.

Is this car tubbed?

Definitely get swingouts. Are you putting a 10 or 6 point in the car?

It'll be a 10 point. I will probably end up getting some swingouts.

Very cool car!

If you are interested in stepping up a little bigger, my buddy has an S484 96mm 1.32 for sale. Save yourself a little money.

Thank you. I will keep that turbo in mind. Only thing I am worried about is being able to still spool a slightly larger wheel on the footbrake.

I hear ya on the cage ordeal. Iv been running mine for years, not quite as fast as yours, without any cage. Wolfe racecraft had a Christmas sale so I jumped on it and bought me a 6 point with swing outs. Hope yours works out!

http://www.appliedracing.com/roll-ba...vis-mount.html

Im using these swingouts andy
They fit inside the tubing and just weld around the seams. Clevis welds to the main hoop.
Super easy to install and fairly cheap...beats climbing in and out all the time in a street car

Looks good, you should do a abs delete to get that ugly abs out of there. Should move out with a bigger turbo.
