Turbo 4.8 I have a few 4.8's and am in the process of building a turbo kit. What would be better heads to run. Going for around 12psi. I have some 706's and 317 heads. I know the 317's will loose bottom end due to lower compression but will they be alot better on top or?
I have read a bunch of times that the stock 706 heads on often crack and leak coolant into the engine oil... How can we stick to stock with those heads doing such a thing???? I am asking because I have a 4.8 with 706 heads that I will be running a on 3 76MM turbo on...... I need help with this one...

Stock... whoever told you that is full of ****...
71 Chevy took a stock long block (minus cam I think) 4.8 and almost made it into the 5's in the 1/8th with it...
Denmah is one of the kings of the junkyard...
Both just gave you their "expert" opinions.
So yeah... you're not going to find the limits of those heads, so don't worry about them.

im pretty sure I will go ahead and run my 706 heads as long as the inspection comes out, not clean but "dirty".. lol..
this link is the only thing that makes me unsure of the 706 heads.. I hear a lot of folks hasnt had any problems, so Im mine check out ok, Ill be done with this topic....
