Don't recall the brand right off hand. It's a high heat satin black.

Thanks! Yes I indeed went to SAM, it was great. Wish I was still there going to school, it was too much fun.

Engine dyno'd NA today. Made right at 500hp @ 7000, and 430 ft lbs @ 5400. Little less than I hoped, but it's still good. Should be doubling that no problem with the turbo kit soon! Just need to get a few fuel system parts before I dyno it boosted.

Do the dyno results make you regret your displacement choice?

With the turbo you well be close to the 900rwhp mark with e85. Will the t-56 hold this power level?

Good question, it would've been nice to make a little more NA, but no I don't regret it. I will be happier spinning this thing way up there. The boost will make the power I need, I have always wanted to build an engine that will turn a little higher RPM. I think this will do exactly that just fine.

It is a Rockland Standard Gear Tranzilla T56, rated to 1200HP. It should be up to the task for a while. Another plus with this engine, it won't have transmission snapping torque right away. The power might come on a little soft, but that's ok. Easier on parts, and easier to keep traction. I think it will be just fine.

Been there done than. I couldn't go back to the small motor stuff. It can be fast but always sucks to drive.

I had a 5.0 ford motor that went 8800 and traped 134 with 10psi.

And I enjoy my 560rwhp all motor a lot motor. It's still a killer build.

I hear ya, my next engine I do is going to be a healthy all motor build no doubt. I just wanted to jump on this forced induction band wagon for a while. Sometimes I wish I would've stuck to the plan and built an NA engine instead of this and have a driving car by now. But if I get it to throw down 4 digits to the wheels next year, that should make the wait worth it.

It'll be worth the wait. There were times I was questioning my waiting... Now I know it was worth it.

Dont be upset with that N/A power level this thing made... or the rpm it made it at. That cam is too big N/A and with its IVC event you were probably giving up some cylinder pressure.

You made the same horsepower a h/c/i 5.3 made with trickflow 215's on motor.....300 rpm higher.

You wont have any problem maxing that turbo out.

It will make 1000+ on 15-16 psi. By 20-21 you will be pulling every ounce of air available from that compressor has to offer. Its gonna peak 300-500 rpm higher than N/A.

From your turbo choice to your engine combination.... this is the most well matched and thought out combo i have seen on this board.

Its gonna run like hell, spool like crazy.... and work well enough you could road race.

I can't wait to see what it does with the pt8847. That is going to be the next purchase to replace my 76gts on my LSA headed 370.
