Thanks Andy, I appreciate it! I had a 3.90 pulley on my 408 and it made 18 to 20 psi, shown below. That's really all the boost you want to push with four bolt per cylinder heads. Bob

Back at the old shop we started with a new LS2 block on the above V owned by skydiver, added a Callies 4.0 stroke crankshaft, used the same blower cam that Tirefire (Andy) has, off the shelf AFR 225 heads, FAST 92 intake, Kooks 1-7/8 headers and an F-1A. At only 12.4 psi of boost it made 864 rwhp on the Mustang Chassis Dyno. Skydiver took the V to another shops dyno day and it made more power on their dyno. Bob

Wow, that's pretty impressive. My car will be a street/strip car, so I hope it has good street manners. My plans going into this was that I wanted my car on KILL mode all the time, even though it would not necessarily be run hard a lot. I don’t see a reason for going back for tunes or trying to pulley up later when it all can be done at once. Besides I don’t have a tuner near me so that’s probably why I think the way I do. LOL

bob what was that car 60 footing?

tirefire....your going to make some mega power.

I am assuming youll be using the aster bracket to keep the belt from dancing? if not bobs got you a great deal on it as we speak.

i would expect you to go ahead and grab the 3.7 pulley and hopefully see 850+

that cts-v is a freak. plainly.

stangtamr is making low 9xx's but is adjusting the setup via intake, exhaust etc...to see if he can get more. I am going to try for 1,xxx with e85, 102, etc...

looks like the f1-c will just be overkill for the 4 bolt design.

I got the Aster bracket a couple months before the group purchase came up..I believe the 3.90 will put me at max impeller speed (73000) F1A is 74000.

I hope to make some good power, I've always wanted a car with a lot of power ever since I drove my 1986 V-6 Yellow Camaro (High school days). LOL

Good luck with your 1,xxx horsepower..

There's gonna be a couple serious blower cars running around at this point! I'm looking forward to watching yours and a couple other builds going together! Should make good power man!

Its put down a best of 831rwhp so far on 18psi with a horrible exhaust setup. There's a little bit more to be had in that department. Only got to take it to a 1/8th track twice on lower boost but the clutch wouldn't hold it. I had a single disc Textralia in it and was running 13psi at 706rwhp. With a shitty clutch and a completely stock suspension I got her to run a 6.8xx @ 107mph with a 1.612 60'. Car should go WAY faster with all the suspension goodies now and a good twin disc.

LOL,

Thats my car right now I have a brand new monster Stage #5 and stock suspension. The clutch was bought before I got my F1A and front mount... I guess we will see how much this clutch can hold. My suspension is gonna have to wait so I can recover from all this stuff I've been buying!!

I dyno'ed them not to long ago. It has Pace setter 1& 3/4ths headders to a shitty pacesetter Y pipe, SLP LM1 w/ magnaflow race muffler on it as well. It has so much backpressure it would seperate part of the pipe thats clamped with a band clamp lol Car ran hard as hell on the street...I have a bunch of new stuff for it though so haha

so in your opinion. what is the best way to go as far as the exhaust. just dump em? seems like clearance issues would come into play. i have 1 3/4 hookers but I am thinking of grabbing a set of TSP SS 1 7/8. All i have is a dynomax resonator after that, but I am thinking the SLP catback will hold back a ton of power. If I just turn down after the headers it is going to be ungodly, so I may be in the market for some cutouts right? seems like most N/A guys do not really benefit so much from them, but I would think since we are pushing alot more air that we would really benefit from it? does this seem legit? It would be nice to quiet her down at certain times.

I'll most likely get mine going with the Kooks 1&7/8ths but I'll upgrade to a true 2" soon after. I went with the Kooks true 3" duals to increase flow and they have a straight through bullet style muffler so it should be ok for flow. I do plan on putting dual cutouts on mine as well right off the collector. AFASTYZFR1 picked up 60rwhp with the cutouts over his regular exhaust setup. Our cars hurt real bad on exhaust back pressure! Like I said, mine was so bad it would actually seperate the pipe/band clamp on the dyno/street. I'd have to pull over to put it back on lol. A dump before the axle would help for sure but would be kind of loud for a street car. I plan on setting my cutouts up pretty trick and run them off either the TPS or another reference to open them at higher throttle %.

I too have a D-1SC on my T/A, but am considering doing what you're in the process of doing. Keep us posted on your final numbers as I'm anxious to see how you pick up going to a F1. Good Luck!

Bob......could you please PM me on cost of going to a F1....thanks.
