Same as above the LSA heads are hard to beat! I sent mine to Richard at WCCH they ran their CNC program enlargerd the chambers to 75cc and drilled them for 1/2" head studs. Could I have bought a set of aftermarket heads for what i have in these sure but, I feel I have a much better set of heads than out of the box aftermarket castings and have no fear of cranking up the boost.

Lol 1st I see a thread about my cam now my heads. Use LSA heads especially if you are on a 4"+ bore. Why would you use anything different for the $$ they work awesome and give you a thick deck + larger chamber for boost. Also better grade aluminium. Same head casting as a Ls9 head except they are machined for standard bolt holes where a Ls9 they machine bigger for studs.

Lsa heads with LS9 cam LS3 intake is hard to beat period esp for the money you cannot go wrong. GM did a good job for us on Gen 4 stuff.

I'd have to ask what power goals and rpm ranges you talking about here? Street/budget, stock castings will work fine. 317's, LSA's, etc. Dont need much to break 700whp on stock castings. Nice mild setup on a budget. If its 1500+ whp monster, then there are other things to consider

I went with LSA heads as well. 10 to 1 370, ls3 manifold and a Patrick g custom cam.

I bought the heads bare and pieced them together myself. I don't have much in them including the prc dual springs.

i bought a set of LSA's bare. then got a set of ferrea stainless intakes, and ferrea inconel exhaust valves. lunati dual spring kit, with tool steel hardware. i bareley have $1200 in all. i am shooting for 1200fwhp. what do you guys think, as cast, or have the ported? my set up is, full filled ls2 block with dm girdle, stock caps, arp main studs, arp head studs (not 1/2") new stock ls2 crank, k1 billet rods, wiseco 4.005 -11cc pistons, ls9 head gaskets, should be around 9.3-1 on straight methanol. 245" rear engine 4link dragster. 1650lbs? should scoot!

On methanol, in a dragster, just leave them as cast and turn up the boost as necessary

that is what i was thinking. also i plan on running without valve seals on the exhaust side. this should help prevent valve guide failure with stock iron valveguides. everything is at the machine shop now, hope to start a build thread soon. calling it the LSXpress

Is there any data to show differences between LSA and 317's? Dyno, flow, specs? Just curious. I'm using 317's but would entertain better heads

the heads off of the cts-v or new zl1. which is basically an ls9 with a few minor differences. the slightly detuned ls9 is referred to as the LSA.

the 317's flow very well, and the benefit to the lsa heads i believe would be a slightly thicker deck, but I cannot support that with evidence so id research it to be sure.
