05 up LQ4 boost limits
I am currently running 14.2 psi through my cam only 07 classic body LQ4. wanting 15 or 16, but folks on the truck side say I am pushing my luck. Any luck on here going higher without head studs?

I ran 15psi on my 98k long block with stock 241 heads, stock rod and head bolts for over 70 drag strip passes and the previous owner put many many more than that on it at 7-11psi.
Keep the tune conservative on timing, run the correct spark plug and fuel and it will last a while.
Will it last forever, no. If done right it will give you a huge amount of bang for the buck.

How much longer will it run with a decent tune and about 15lbs? I wouldn't want to keep rebuilding it every 10-20k miles I'd be broke. But I know how much stress boost produces on motors

Mine has 203k miles on it and has seen 9lbs for the past 30k or so. I had it tuned safely and dont beat the **** outta it, but it does see WOT through 2nd and 3rd almost daily in a stock stalled 3.23 gear A4 DD car. It runs about 12deg timing @ WOT, No meth just 93 octane, afr 11.3-11.5, shift @ 6000 RPM, Iat sensor located after intercooler and tuned to pull timing when iat's reach 120deg. This is on a 99 model with all stock **** and makes #'s in sig... GL...

mid 10's and 125mph in my truck will push water after awhile with stock bolts. 9's and 140mph doesn't push a drop with ls9 gaskets and studs. This is at 4850~4875 lbs. In a lighter chassis a guy should be able to get away with more. Moving weight is hard on parts.

Thanks for the replys guys. I wanna hit it with 15 psi or so for a couple glory runs. Not trying to bracket race the 10.5 class all weekend. I have heard if it pushes a lil coolant and you watch for it, you can let it cool down , back off some and keep driving. It is a 1100 dollar engine so 350 and a whole Saturday is a big cost for some gaskets and studs IMO. Worse comes to worse, the new 6.0 will get studs /gaskets .

You'll shoot your eye out kid!
J/K , how much meth are you thinking? I am running one M15 nozzle now and have another to add for more boost. By then I will be relying heavily on meth for fueling but that will have the octane high and the cooling effect maximized.

I have read some about it. Lot of controversy over results vs compressor damage. My simple mind thinks the cooler charge would make the system more efficient because the charge would ne more dense. I am not above spraying the turbo. Or hitting it with a lil juice.

Timing is 13-15. Actual. Iat's are under 100 thanks to straight meth. 3.42 gears. Yank 3k stall. Running conservative 10.5/1 air/fuel ratio on 93 and one M15 spraying vp 100% meth.
