Well I'm sure you've seen Jason (lt1camaroman) mustang when u guys tuned it with the s480 and Phil's teal mustang with a s480 also and made stupid power. You'll be tuning my s480 here shortly also so you'll be able to report back with your opinion on those units

You are to be commended for taking this thread on.Great info, and direction for folks that want to turbo but don't know enough to get started on their own. That first street /strip setup you described with gt35's or simular turbos sounds like the ticket for me.

That's a tiny turbo for a LS anything. It's going to spool very fast.

I keep seeing this statement. It depends on what your doing. For a drag car, yes, tiny. For a street car, its great.

Comparing my 5.3, PT76, 4L80E street car to a friends twin PT67 427 GTO street car, the twins still spool much faster.

I agree with los, it's small even for a street car.

Stroke and rod length has more to do with turbine size than actual cubic inches.

For comparison a 5.3 and a 5.7 should be looked at very similarly in turbine size for each because they both share the same stroke. Similar not identical though, I would say the 75mm turbine is as small as I would go on a 5.3 and a 75-83mm would be as small as I'd go on a 5.7 where as on a 6.0 I'd want no smaller than a 87mm-92mm turbine.

While it seems we're mostly on the same page I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one.

Wow! Thanks for the insite... can you comment on the suitability of 2 smaller turbos (think quick response for a street car) on a stock L92/T56 ib a 2nd Gen Camaro?

Which turbos would you recommend for a 383 c.i. ls1, twin set up, street/strip, automatic transmission? I know there are other variables involved, just looking for suggestions.

I bought a used TC78 with 1.15 A/R turbine and ballbearing center section to run on an L33 alum 5.3 with ported 5.3 heads, LS6 intake, 225/223 cam, and Chiseled A/W intercooler with a 6speed in a '69 Chevelle. Putting a 9" out back and 3.25 gears.

Hoping for 800rwhp on e85. My buddy made 830rwhp with this exact turbo on a built LS3 with ported heads/LS3 intake and 6spd.

How much power do your street cars need, sadly most never need more than 600-700, but that 7675 has done mid 800's for me and I love it, spools INSTANTLY on my 5.3(over 800rwhp by 3800rpm) and enough to push my rx7 to 167.9mph and my ltd to 143.8mph at over 4000lbs and on pure street tires. In a decent fbody it should be enough to go 150mph on a 5.3, I think thats more than enough for MOST street cars.

They do not seem to be listed in the most obvious place on your website. Is this an as needed "special" order item?

I am so mad you posted this.....NOW I HAVE TO BUILD A TWIN SETUP THIS WINTER!!!! LOL

Great info....I can crunch numbers and try to build a "theoretical turbo setup" but you have the true data and knowledge to know what works and what fails.

Thanks Jim

For a newb to snails this is a real EYE opener.

What is the smallest turbos Ya'll would suggest for a 347 or 383 5.3L stroker?

Great read, this validates a lot of my assumptions. Seems like most turbos are oversized by manufactures also. Garrett states the 3076 is sized for up to 2 litres making twins too small for 390 cubes, but looking at the compressor maps I came to your same conclusion. Being no expert, I was doubtful as this info is hard to come by.
