Default Best intake for motor?

I am building a forged 3.905 ls1. I will be running a 76mm turbo. I want to see 850 to the wheels. So my question is what intake will get me there? I was thinking the edelbrock vic jr with an elbow and a 90mm tb, or the 85mm typhoon style with matching tb. Any better suggestions?

Stock LS6 intake and TB will get you there with ease.

Yes cathedral port. from what I understood, the ls6 and 78mm stock t.b. Were maxed out at 750 hp?

I made 889rwhp on my old set-up with my factory stock Ls6 intake and throttle body, and others have made much more judging by the way their car's mph in a 1/4 mile.

Yeah, no prob meeting your goals with LS6 intake and stock ported TB.

Just FYI, MightyMouse ran a ported and moddified LS6 intake that was reflanged to accept a 90mm TB. I actually wasn't aware that he had changed it,

What RPM do you want to spin this thing to and do you already have a cam chosen?

That will play more of a part of what manifold you use versus how much power.

A LS2 or LS6 intake will rev to 6800-7000rpm in a turbo application and make enough power to lift the heads off a 4 bolt block.

What causes the heads to lift? High RPM, high boost, or just big horsepower in general? I'd imagine cylinder pressure is the biggest factor?

On the most part I'd say it is people running too close to detonation. Power will play a part, but it will take a lot

Cylinder pressure.

Excess timing creates excess cylinder pressure, excess boost creates excess cylinder pressure, too small of a cam creates more dynamic compression which creates too much cylinder pressure, too much static compression creates excess cylinder pressure........etc. etc. etc.

There are a bunch of contributing factors.
