Thanks guys!

Another update, nothing much, but still something. The past week we've been cleaning/modifying/rebuilding the headlight buckets. Decided to use the inside headlights as air intakes for the turbo. We found some Spectre headlight air intake funnels on Summit Racing (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SPE-9787/). The outside headlights will be S-10 High/Low beams. In order to get the funnels to fit, we had to modify the headlight housings/buckets, A long process with an enndmill on the drill press... The stock trim ring fits around the funnels so that was no issue. Found some 1/4" mesh at Aubuchon Hardware, a 10' roll for $10, had plenty of room to mess up! (Also a better deal than some online stores, get more for a lower price. Painted everything in Satin black, but painted the inside of the funnels aluminum so they "somewhat" resemble a headlight, just so the actual headlight doesn't look lost.

as for progress.. slow progress. hood is on, not painted yet, but on, front and rear bumpers stripped down ready for paint. just mounted the battery box, put the shut off and jump jacks behind the license plate.

There's really no good place to mount the battery shut-off and jumper-jacks, so we were looking all around, trying to find a good place. ...Why not behind the license plate? We put the jump jacks where there are two bumps in the plastic where the plate stops on, cut those out and put the jacks in. Then made a plate for the shut off to go where the fuel fill used to be. We plan on getting a (Caprice? what year??) license plate bracket that stays folded down when we want it down.

Well I left off with the battery shut-off/jumper jacks "build." That part is finished..also bright yellow to pass tech..lol. Happy with how it looks. Got a license plate bracket from a Camaro that stays folded down for when its raced.

Another project that has been in the works.. Aluminum bumper brackets. We designed the end plates and sent the CAD drawings to be laser CNC'd locally then welded the aluminum tube between. These things are SO light, much better than the stock shocks.

The driver's side header and steering shaft are in the way of each other, in the process of modifying the header to allow clearance. We cut off about 3/8" on the rear tubes (the only ones in the way" hoping to heat and bend them to the flange and re-weld. Well that isn't really working..thinking about cutting the last two off at 3/8" and welding all 4 closer to the flange. Work in progress...

And finally, had a nice package on the front step the other day..

I need to do the same to the drivers side header on my 70 chevelle also. Any more pics of your header and the steering interference/header mod?

Finished the header modification, Just cut all 4 tubes off the flange the same amount and welded it all up, sanded sanded sanded and polished after..you wouldn't even know anything is different except for the fact that the steering shaft clears.

Now that that's all cleared up, its time to start plumbing the turbos. Mounted the intercooler with custom aluminum brackets (notice in pictures). So far we have the turbo to intercooler tubes completed. Purchased a 2.5" aluminum piping kit. Before cutting any of these up and having throw-aways.. we made our own "kit" out of PVC piping, cut a bunch of pie's to make the same size U-bends.

Finalized the PVC pipes and traced them onto the actual pipe. Taped them together for welding, we have a family friend that has been welding the aluminum for us..amazing welder! Got the tubes back from him and more sanding and polishing..
