Thanks again everyone. I'm bummed about the car. I've owned it since new in 2002 8800 miles on it as it sits today. I would feel much worse but I know my guys behind the car will get it done. Speed Inc and Midwest Chassis. Mike Kostic "Tuff" owns a Carstar near me and came but to look at it. He said he would put it on his frame machine and make it right. He said the chassis can be saved so Eric can update the cage and rebuild the front end. I have another close friend Jeff who is a body man that will make it look new again once the cahssis is sorted out. He had done my doors and hood. I also had Neil "posessed1" offer his services too, Chassis fabrication.

I will start a rebuild thread with lots of pics as soon as I get started which should be Wednesday.

Glad to see you aren't waisting anytime to get back to working on the car. I know it will not be a quick fix but at least you are letting it sit for a couple months before getting to work on it

impressive recovery Andy, back to the build by Wed? awesome!

QQ - looking at the pics, I'm amazed there isn't more damage to the front end after going into the wall at that speed. I would think you would have crumbled the entire front and done far more damage.

also curious on the safety side- do you wear that helmet strap for your neck as well?

Want to hear something REALLY STUPID? I was wearing my tech approved foam neck brace while my carbon fiber Hans was sittting in the trailer! It's a a pain to put on in the car but I will tell you that I will never make another pass down the track without it! My neck is still sore as we speak.

Sorry to hear about the wreck. About 6-7 years ago we were there at Milan for a NMRA event and it had rained on friday evening. That satuday morning the first set of cars down , the car in the right lane hit the wall at about 900 ft. They cleaned it up and ran the next pair, same thing happened. Car in the right lane wrecked. They postponed racing that morning for about 3-4 hours. The problem was that water wickes up down track through the asphalt.

First I'm glad your ok and that the car can and will be fixed. I can understand your "pain" I have owned mine since new in 2000 as well and it sucks to see something that you have put all the time, money and effort in get wrecked. I also crashed earlier this year testing at gateway but I was only going ~100MPH and bounced off the wall, I can only imagine what it was like at that speed. Did anything with the motor get hurt? I cracked 3 water jackets and cylinder liners in the crash but I have an aluminum block.

If you need anything let us know, I think I'm looking for some of the same body parts.

Stuff in front of the motor never touched the balancer but some of the turbo kit needs to be redone.

We will get that fixed in no time. Just stay off the track next time you see it being cleared off by snow plows and salt spreaders

Really though, glad that you are ok Andy, that video looked absolutely brutal.
