317 heads and boost.
The original plan was to push for 800whp using a pt7576
I already have a good idea on the short block, however the heads im a bit confused on and seek some direction..
The original plan was to use 317 heads with the stock valves and a set of ls6 springs.
However, after researching a little bit, i learned ls6 springs are NOT the way to go in a boosted application. The cam will be a 02-04 ls6 cam which shouldnt be too harsh on the valve springs at all, however im looking for a set which isnt to expensive and will meet/exceed my goals. I may even up the turbo size a little bit which really isnt too relative if im getting a good set of springs anyways.
Anyways, the plan now is to use a set of manley stainless steel valves. (not sure on which sizes) and springs i have no idea at all.
I will be having AI put the heads together, id just like a little information on what i should buy before so i can send it off to them so they can install it.
Any information/details of your setup/ knowledge will be great help! And yes, i did search. Its how i found out ls6 springs and stock valves wouldnt cut the cake!
I have this exact set up on my stock 317's and have had no issues. I highly recommend it. The stock valves will be fine. Instead of replacing them take that money and put it towards somthing else
i will be doing a little bit of mild home porting on a set of 317s, and throwing them on my 5.3 and seeing if i can pickup power over my stock 706s shortly
