Default ls2 intake vs other ls6 intake on boost?

As the title says..... Has anyone done a comparison? Is it even worth the pain of swapping? Or are there substantial gains?

Have a 800rw 5.3 with an LS1, looking to upgrade over the winter.

I don't see how there can be any gains under boost.

I know someone who went from an LS1 intake to a ported LS6 intake with a sc'er set-up and it did absolutely nothing on the dyno. It was a P1SC and a stock cubed engine with forged pistons and rods. Stock crank. I think it dynoed like 550 RWHP...IIRC.

Did boost go down after the swap?

is this on a 5.7 or a 6.0? the larger displacment would benifit from the extra airflow im assuming but probly nothing really noticable with out a dyno.

Not sure of the detailed numbers, I just know he told me the car made no more power on the dyno. Same dyno was used for both set-ups. Doubt a big ole' sheet metal intake would make a difference....the heads are the restriction...the weak link.

He's about to change heads to thicker deck, MUCH better flowing heads. He's gonna see a big jump with these. His current heads are just stock LS6 heads......flowing in the 310 range I think. He's going to heads flowing like 350cfm.

We lost two pounds of boost and picked up 60 rwhp at the old shop, when we swapped over from an LS2 intake to a FAST 92 intake on the above CTS-V. It has an LS2 block, 4.00 stroke/402, AFR 225 heads, F-1A blower, our blower camshaft, Kooks 1-7/8 headers. It makes 864 rwhp at just 12.4 psi of boost. The dyno sheet can be seen at this link. http://shop.brutespeed.com/Brute-Spe...d-Camshaft.htm The owner took the V to another shops dyno day and it made more power on their dyno. Bob

I was just wondering if he was out of blower, not sure when the p1sc is done.

I like to hear this as I picked up a fast 102. They (shop owners) said I would be leaving a lot on the table by not going with the fast 102.
