installed the methanol nozzles in the intake elbow today, also connected the boost gauge, welded the downpipe o2 bung and connected all that. car seems to be doing pretty good! gotta do some fine tuning on it now that the wideband is installed again, then we can do the hood pins and take it for a drive down the road.

I always enjoy the things you guys throw together other than the fact that it takes me a year to accomplish what you guys do in a weekend!

I love these builds. The more I read, the less money I spend! Are these the $69 kmj studs? Don't tell me you pony'd up for ARPs

I'm trying to build the ***** and wallet to build something and reading your threads gives me the confidence financially but I've never did an lsx swap. Keep up the great work and as usually ridiculously fast.

This ain't your momma's Sunturd lol
And denmah, I read your signature. I have a 2000 5.3 with unknown miles, some slight rust in 2 cylinders(may hone them, may just let it ride and see what happens), one broken connecting rod(injector leaked causing hydrolock, fortunately it happened at start up and did ZERO damage to the cylinder wall(I have a new rod)), LS1 heads, and a partridge in a pear tree. How much boost you think it will take before something goes horribly catastrophic and wrong?

well i hate to beat the drum but boost is irrelevant, try measuring everything in hp when you are building or thinking about cars because that is easier currency, i am at 650rwhp on boost only and i was over that easily with the spray before and she runs like a top.

i dont know how much i can make, my friends notch just went 140mph boost only and that is the same engine i have, the motors are amazing and i have learned alot about keeping them together over the last 2 years or so of pushing them.

whats funny for alot of people saying the 4.8 with 317 heads would be a turd. lol, it absolutely spools better than my fairmont, this has 11.6 inch read drum brakes and its non intercooled with a 3.5 inch pipe strait off the turbo only about 14 inches long is why i attest its working so good right now.

we have thought about going strait off my turbo right into my intake on my fairmont to test this theory. but it absolutely spools better, i was never able to foot brake 5psi like this thing can right out of the box.

the car should be 3200 with driver, 100 lbs lighter than the grey notch we built and 200lbs lighter than the fairmont.

With the reasonable timing you run, and as long as you continue to run a decent amount of methanol, why not!

As an aside, I found that water/methanol injection starting at 1psi (with a progressive system) definitely helped my spool. That was with a Precision 62/65 (65mm turbine exducer) on a low compression 2.0L.

I'm not sure if you can get this to work well with a single stage system that is optimized for high boost conditions, but you could throw a Hobbes switch into the mix for a simple progressive system that would probably work out pretty sweet...... Hey, I like that idea, maybe that's what I'll do on my next setup! Haha
