Default 600hp is it true?

I was reading articles about performance packages for the ls1. My ultimate goal for my car is a daily driven 600whp car. Currently i have a 94 rx7 with a 99 corvette ls1 with a ported ls6 intake and a lunati vodoo cam. According to this article ( http://www.superchevy.com/technical/...s/viewall.html ) it says all i need to get to the 600hp mark is stock ls6 heads, cam, headers and supercharger. Is this true? Has anyone tested this? Seems too easy to me. Im looking for reliability and decent gas mileage. I have a great tuner just need to get the car ready for this plan. How much will this type of setup kill my gas mileage? Also can i swap the ls6 heads and cam in without retuning my car right now?

600 rwhp is cake with a D1SC procharger. Granted, the shortblock might not be happy for a long time, but it's been done time and time again.

If you want reliability put a stroker motor in there and stay n/a.

You will have packaging issues doing that in your FD and keeping it cool during the summer will be your other challenge. Also you need to redo your fuel system. For the extra power the LS6 heads make.... simply turn up the boost and save the $. Stock heads will get you there.

A well built stroker motor should run 135mph+ n/a in the 1/4 with medium sized cam in our lightweight RX-7s. With a nasty cam 140mph should be achievable. How much faster do you need to go?

Of note ported heads/cam stock shortblock based LS1 FD typically goes 126mph+ in the 1/4 n/a. I put 20K miles on mine in one year with minor issues... that never left me stranded. Others have been 130mph+ with stock shortblocks and upgraded heads/cam/headers in an FD.

a 418 or 427 stroker with TFS or AFR heads in a light RX7 would be killer! 140+mph would be easy

A D-1SC Procharged 6.2L on E-85 would kill in that scoot.

no. Im in sc.. and mine no longer really looks like that. i need to upload a newer pic. I have to think about all that you are saying about heat because i plan this car to be a daily and im planning on moving back to az next year. I deff think 140 in the 1/4. as long as my gas mileage can be close to the 30mpg mark like it is now.

If you plan to move back to AZ don't plan on running forced induction. Good luck keeping that cool.
