Default Stainless Works Turbo Headers

While we have pretty good notes, i'm sure there are some applications that you guys have used Stainless Works turbo headers for that we don't know about. If you have anything to add to the following list, post up with the mods you needed to make it work and we can add it to the list!

These are 304L Stainless Steel with backpurged welds to prevent blow outs. Limited life-time warranty on materials and workmanship and 100% American Made!

LSXT - LSX up and forward turbo headers
1 7/8" primaries with 3" collector
Standard set will work on LS7 D ports because of size of tube
- 1st and 2nd generation LS swapped F-bodies with minimal mods to steering
- Nova, and Chevelle with LS swap and minimal mods to steering
- 3rd gen Camaros with LS swap
- 4th gen F-bodies if mounted upside down.

LS1DFT - LSX down and forward turbo headers
1 3/4" primaries with 3" collector
Standard set will not work on LS7 D ports but can be ordered with custom flange
-designed for 4th gen fbody with A/C

One question:

Why does the passenger's side down and forward header point the way it does (instead of straight forward)?

Just by what I see if it was straight it would hit or be in the same area as the suction/accum drier. I bet they turned it a few degrees so they can sell a turbo header to fit 99% of the cars out there including ones with everything in stock position. But like I said, thats what it appears to be turned in for...

FYI our power steering relocation kit was meant to be used with these headers if you are having clearance issues.

Would like to see some pictures of these on a 4th gen. Considering using a set on my build this winter.

Texhotrod593 has it. Symmetry is important to us but a simple tweak of the collector and we could make sure they fit so many more cars!

LSXT - the up and forward headers

They fit into a 4th gen if you run them upside down but do not clear many accessories. They do have larger primaries than the down and forward ones though.

For reference, they are supposed to be installed like the attached picture - "up and forward" but they work nicely the other way around in this application

Definitely have some room in a G body. I bet the up and forwards might work as we have seen our BBC turbo headers installed in one before.

Foxbody. These were submitted some time ago by a customer. I'm trying to figure out exactly what they are at this point. They were labeled LSXT but i don't think they actually are. They are symmetrical so i don't believe they can be the LS1DFT's.

How bout a set of shorties out of mild steel and priced the same as reg shorties like $300? It seams that just because there for a "turbo" the price goes up 400% when there really just long tubes facing foward. I'm not bashing your headers in the least bit, I think there really sick and would LOVE to own a set but just out of my budget hence maybe a shortie like truck manifolds at a better price point?

A "race style" version of the LS1DFT with symmetrical collectors (instead of passenger side tilting inside) would be cool for those who don't have A/C etc and want to build a twin setup, or just to have equal length headers.

While we would love to do it, unfortunately we can't touch that price point. Anything that cheap is usually made 1000's at a time in China from Chinese materials (not the same standards). Stainless Works is all hand made by an American labor force with only US sourced material. I think we make a set of Stainless block huggers for around $550.

Our turbo headers are actually priced right in line with our standard headers. They usually have tighter bends and are a little more difficult to fabricate because of it, but we don't feel they should be three times as much money like some other turbo headers.

That looks great and it clears a lot of accessories. Did you have to do any clearance work on the subframe or fenders?

Surprisingly no, the car has the taller solid engine mounts and they mount to the stock sbc pads on the rhs block. I'm not sure but the engine might even sit higher if I had to use the ls engine adapters.

So this work with a/c? I don't recall anyone ever talking about this set up? What all needs moved/relocated for this to work?

No pictures in an S10.

Here are some measurements so you can get the idea though.
