You have a link to that s475 on the cheap... after some more thought on this the step up motor will most likely be a forged 347 innan iron block and ithink that is as far as we'll go with this setup. The trans is a 4l80. With a brake and the converter will be in the 4k area so I don't think a slightly larger unit will be just a nitemare to spool but I dunno. Any info on the ebay air to water intercoolers as far as some good ones or just stay away? This combo will be ran on 112 citgo or c16 fuel and the plan is an air to water under the dash. Keep the idea's coming guys..... as I said I'm a newb on turbo's.

Check out the S400sx-75, 76 and 80. Some of them are pretty darn cheap and a guy with a forged 346 just made around 1050 hp with the 80.

S400SX-76R CAST* 1200hp 1.10 92mm T6 $1199
This is one of the ones that is hot in the classes limited to the 76mm cast wheel. That is the same turbine wheel and housing I got for my 5.3 but unfortunately no results yet. If you wanted a little faster spool, the 87mm, but if you wanted better upgrade choices later, the 92mm and 96mm would be the way to go.

The shop thats doing work on my car has done a few 5.3's with a bw s400sx-76R cast with a t6 flange making 800-900 at the wheels and low 9's in the quarter. This is also the same turbo on my 383 stroker

That is one that ive been looking hard at for $879!!! How much boost are they making those numbers at?
Are there any problems with stock coils and ecu at these power levels?

I was wondering the difference between s400SX-76 ETT and the s400SX-76R. The s400SX-76 ETT has a 96mm compressor wheel and 1,32 a/r and is a lot cheaper than the 76R. Was wondering what would be the best 76mm cause I'm restricted to that

I'm going to run twin on3 6165's on my lq4 s10. Its going to be cheaper than if i went with a single borg unit and easier to package cause I'm building my own logs. If i went with a single i would have to do a2w because my intercooler overheated my radiator on my last build.

Just do the box stock S480 thats 850 bucks.
Right converter and cam and it will spool way quicker than what you think.
On a 331ci motor with 8.5 compression and a 218/218 cam... the car leaves the brake at 16 psi and is making 34psi .4 seconds later.
From dead idle it will get on a 4300 chip and make 20 psi of boost in .8 seconds.
This is a race oriented setup with a pretty loose converter and a glide.
Whats the end goal for the truck? All out dragstrip performance and then the street manners are what they are??
