Turbonetics good or bad?
I want to put a single turbo on my LQ4 that will be going into my 71 skylark. I have been looking at turbonetics hurrican series 78mm, they run about $800. Is the turbonetics a good turbo or is there a better turbo for around the same price?

Really depends on your goals, but for a stock LQ4 looking for 500-600hp, the TC78 would be a great choice. Turbonetics also offers a 1-year hassle-free warranty. I personally haven't been anything but impressed with their service either. If you want a little bit more bad to the bone turbo with a few more options available, higher HP rating, I would go no where else but Comp. However you are going to pay about double.
I currently have a TC78 on the shelf, no wait or build time, if you are interested and can get you the best pricing of anywhere if interested! Let me know!

Tc78 is an excellent turbo, tnetics has good cust serv. Quality parts.
I like that turbo alot for street duty, also there evolution 38mm wg is quality also.
I use tnetics for just bout everything now.

I just bought a tc78 from Huron/Superman and the price was great !
Even though its listed @ 900+ turbo I think it's just a bit small for that.
If I can get 650-700 out of it on a 4.8 ill be ecstatic !

I'm getting about 700whp out of one one a forged 346. They are good turbos but if you are lookin for more I'd go with a pt7675. The tc78 has a smaller 68mm turbine wheel and is showing to be a restriction on my setup.

They are coming out with the 75mm wheel, but it is still delayed another month or so now. I will be able to get them for everyone as well! However my rep informed me they will only be released in Ball Bearing so pricing will be a bit higher. If it is the same as their current TC76/78 BB prices, it would be around $1100

I called to ask about larger A/R's on the exhaust side and she asked me if I would be interested in a larger turbine wheel- I said of course- she then mentioned It would be only BB and "should be out" in a month or so. this was last month of course.

I was told the same thing from Turbonetics, only available in BB.
