I kept stock rockers and lifters but spent the $130 on pushrods. is it absolutely necessary? Probably not but their not to expensive to hurt the wallet for the peace of mind.

I got some old ls2 ones in mine. Upgrading is never a bad thing.

How hard are pushrods to install? Can I just tell them stock motor tu2 cam and they can match me up with pushrods?

Is it as same as taking the rocker off outing new valve springs and pushrods in and tq valve cover back on?

Their easy to install since your doing springs. You need a pushrod length tool its $20 from comp. I ended up with 7.300" pushrods with my tu2 cam and stock rockers. That's .100" shorter than stock and its a big difference. I'm not sure if it would differ from your engine or not though.

My God, does that thing have a tiny base circle or something? .100" shorter huh? I agree, that $20 pushrod length tool is probably the best tool to have in your toolbox for the money if you're building motors!

i guess so lol. i was surprised it was .100" shorter too but thats what the tool told me and they seem to be the perfect fit. glad a spent $20 on that tool instead of guessing because i woulda been wayyyy off.

When you install the cam is it as simple as just going dot to dot? Why am I seeing people talking about tdc?

Any certain order to take the head bolts off without them warping or Dosent matter?

And I seem on ls1howto tq specs are those the same for the 6.0 or no?

I love my TU1 in my 5.3 and would highly recommend any speed inc turbo cam. I would also do LS7 lifters, pushrods and good dual springs like the Brian Tooley springs. Also LS9 gaskets and studs. Also, idk if your 6.0 has the old style LS1 timing chain, but if it does get the LS2 chain, its stronger and good insurance

is there any downfalls if using like the 2001 style lq4s for a build? i mean it is still a gen III engine. and i plan on doing a full 408 build on it. im aiming for about 800wrhp streetable

6.0L LQ4 408
Callies Compstar Forged Crank
Eagle 6.125 H Beams with 3000 rod bolts
Diamond 4.03 -2cc pistons
Clevite Main/Rod bearings
ARP studs
ARP crank bolt
LPE GT7 cam ($440 w/ls6 springs)
Rollmaster dual timing chain
Melling oil pump.. idk if i need high pressure or high volume
LS9 head Gaskets
317 heads
LS7 lifter
TSP Chromoly Pushrods
Patriot dual valve springs
Alternator relocation bracket for f body

i just dont know how strong to go on some parts. im stoping by a machine shop tomorrow to talk to a guy i know at Kennedy's.
but i figure about 20lbs of boost thru a FMIC F1 procharger would do the trick

Theirs no downfalls besides the ls1 style rods but of your re building then who cares. I suggest you goo with the Brian Tooley springs like 02caramoss stated they are $219 from tick performance and are just as good as patriot gold duals

Its quite a bit beefier than the old style. And its only like $60 at Texas speed. It's plenty strong

Also I have my eyes set on this tick performance cam Martin recommended for me does anyone know if this will have any clearance issues with the stock lq4 parts? I just want to slap the cam In with the pushrods and valve springs....

Wondering if it will work with no other modifications

If you want to be exactly sure you can use a cam timing tool but me and many others have just lined the two dots up. any 3 bolt ls cam will work but once you start getting into the 1 bolt cams like the ls9 you need a different cam gear but to answer your question yes that cam will bolt right in. I think they stated the ls2 chains in 05 when they started with the ls2 style rod

Ok cool so it won't be to big and the pistons won't start hitting the valves?

How big of a cam can you usually go on the stock motor before notched pistons?
