Ya ever have one of those days where ya wake up pissed off for no reason? That was today for me, and ya know it really didn't get much better when i started working on the old 408ci engine. I was just going to tear it down, change the camshaft, change all the gaskets, and go.....well nope. The first thing i noticed that was odd was the #2 intake, right behind the hole in the head for the pushrod, looks like something was maybe bouncing around a little bit. I'm still unsure. So I continue to pull that cylinder head, when i get the head off and i start looking at it, there are chips out of the head in between the intake and exhaust valve. Cylinder walls aren't bad but they sure as hell could be better. So looks like I'll be tearing this all the way down, new bearings and rings....and i'll send the heads off to be repaired too. Not really what i was looking to do but i guess it will pass the time until MY new engine gets here and the car goes off to the chassis shop. I just looooove tackling multiple builds at the same time. haha
And now for a little bit of dumbass.....So I like to shoot, i shoot a lot out here at my house. Me and my Wilson Combat 1911 are best friends.....one day i thought I'll use this engine stand to hold my steel and it will be all good....except for when you miss, hit the stand. But hey I did a little creative engineering and fixed it all up!
Probably hard to see, but this is the pic with the markings I was refering to for the pushrod hole
This is cylinder 2-4-6-8, except you are looking at it with 8 being on the right. Notice the odd pattern? My head gaskets looked fine though...so I'm not sure whats up there
Here are a few of the "chips" between the intake and exhaust
In this one there is also a sweeping pattern along the sparkplug

Hayden Jane @ 5 months, she's thinking she needs a procharged vette!
Just want to say thank to Speed Inc., Tick, Brett Land, and Proformance Transmissions. Those dudes will do anything to help anyone out, top notch service.
I've never been screwed over so bad by so many "reputable" shops. I've never in my life had to work so hard to spend money with shops. I couldn't handle calling people everyday to babysit. Car is parted out and sold. Lucky for me my wife has a WS6 and we are putting a 408ci in it for fun. I left the LS world and bought a 95 Supra. I'll be helping my wife run true street this year at the shoot out.
My new car and my sister-in-law's car
My car again (front lip painted), and my wife's car going in for a full re paint, under hood and all.
I can't wait to see all the bad a** cars in the real street class this year!!

Man I am really looking forward to seeing your car done. You still have the ProCharged car right? Maybe sometime we'll meet up for a cruise, I've got a buddy with a nice GTO that's always going up to Ft. Wayne

Here she is almost done! Anthracite is the name of the color, its a triple stage. Everything has been completely repainted, underhood is cleared now too.
Anyone remember this car, I built it back in 07 for the LSX shootout. Blew up 2 transmissions (a nameless tuner had the line pressures maxed out??!!), won best paint, and best engine. Then we took the car to SEMA....and it got ugliest car!!! There are no stickers on this car, all hand airbrushed by Bobby Vandergraff.
