best short block?
Not with a turbo setup. Mightymouse has driven his car to the store and all over town, then go to the track and bust some 8 sec passes.

haha.. very nice. now a little different topic. which turbos? and which size? i know i may catch some crap for this but i am looking into nelson racing mirror image turbos. they are pretty expensive. but they gave me a quote of 3800$ for a pair of 72mm turbos. too small for my power needs?

...ok, well I just had an 11,000 dollar 418 built for a friend...thats my cost..., should be a 1100rwhp motor,..thats a decent price..... the LSX one GM offers,..has a RATING of 450hp only(generic)...the COPO camaro that goes 8's,...runs a what kind of motor? Yup. Same ****...it's RATED @ 550hp with a 4.0 whipple...... so, do you really think its making 550?...do you really think GM is gonna build a BOOST motor that ONLY handles 15psi?
lol. Whats PSI again? People are making over 1200hp on FACTORY ENGINES,..do you not think this motor could handle MUCH more?
9,600.00 is retail...I don't pay retail. I am simply giving an option. I wouldn't call factory forged rotating assembly in a 2500 factory rated block(from an automobile manufacture -ah, hello) junk. 10 bucks says you ain't gonna blow this motor up.

one guy barely bent a h beam rod at 1900rwhp and that was after several other runs, and a spark plug issue, as well as a block that was supposedly prepped from another place. its all he said she said though. cant really buy into it.....all i know is there are others running 1000+ rwhp with the motor and its still ticking....i mean stangkillr was running 900-1000rwhp on his stock lq9 so imagine what one built from a sponsor will put up with. 800rwhp is a tickle to that thing with a good tune.
Another guy got a C-Series (Cast) Crank in his 408 instead of the DragonSlayer, may have just been a mix up though.

I checked the summits website and a few threads, I dont think callies makes a cast crank. They were all 4340 forged.
I'm shocked no one said HKE !!! Eriks motor has been in my turbo car for 3 years not a single problem. Hke has a lot of very fast engines out their. He dosent post on tech as much as some others but don't for get about him. If I need a badder engine one day eriks my 1st choice

It is still grossly overpriced based on the fact it is loaded with generic parts.
For under 6k you can purchase a lsx block, dragonslayer crank, ultra I beam or Oliver rods, and wiseco/diamond pistons.... Even coated bearings.. $1000 in machine work and you have a stronger engine for less money. How do I know this for sure? I have done it.
Oh, not to mention you can pick the displacement!

im not one to bash someones opinion. but for 9-10k i can have probably the best boost ready block you can buy.(while using an lsx block) and could probably handle 2000hp. not that i want to do that but im just not going to throw something in a show car that isnt top notch, or close to it. for 6-8k i can have what im looking for.

Like I stated...it's an option, holmes. Nobody is putting a gun to your head SPORT...nobody said it was the best.
