Its not mini-tubbed (yet). I trimmed & rolled the inner fenders & quarters, and measured very precisely. Wheels were custom made according to my measurements. I've got about a half inch clearance both inner and outer in the rear.

Also - I almost posted in the conversions & hybrids section, but this is going to be a pretty extensive twin-turbo build, documenting my whole E85 fuel system, turbo setup, intercooler, boost/vacuum setup, catch cans, tuning...everything. So probably most interesting to people here in FI section.

I see. I thought about rolling the inner fenders as I dont need much just a ****** hair more clearance. We'll see.

I guess the mods will decide on the section but I mentioned that cause its modern technology in a classic car.

Either way, look forward to it.

Build it, don't buy it. $5 bucks worth of steel and I have some nice DIY conversion mounts.

Fit is perfect.

Using stock big-block frame stands, and factory holes.

I was having trouble getting the 4l80e to fit. I think these damn center console mounting bolts were causing interference. Removed them, and everything fits fine now.

Build it, don't buy it. DIY crossmember for 4l80e. Perfect fit, proper angle and strong as hell.

I used 1X3 steel tubing. Snugs up tight and allows plenty of clearance for 3in exhaust.

I made the plate extra long and added a bolt hole to attach subframe connectors.

Starting to look good. Check out that smoothed firewall and relocated wiper motor!

Relocated wiper motor to the far right. Once the fender goes back on, the wiper motor will be tucked up inside, completely out of sight.

Boost ref fuel pressure regulator and billet rails.

Fragola stainless fuel line with teflon core (for E85).

Wiring harness almost done.

I found this fuse/relay block on ebay from a 96 chrysler voyager.

Using it to wire in all my circuits for the ECU and relays for starter, fans, etc. Its a lot easier than it looks. Just take it one wire at a time.

I cut a recess in the floor under the passenger seat to mount the ECU.

I'll seam seal and dynamat it, and the wires will run under the center console. This allows enough clearance for the seat to slide and adjust with no interference.

Got a mustang hydroboost from an 03 Cobra on ebay. It will replace the old vacuum booster (on the right).

I'm gonna have to order up a couple turbos pretty soon. Interested in hearing your twin setups and dyno numbers. I'm shooting for 800+ rwhp on E85 and 2 bar tune. Leaning towards Comp billet 6067s. 60mm billet compressor, 67mm turbine, either T3 .82ar or T4 .68ar. Haven't purchased turbos yet though, so let me know what you think.

Up Next:
1. Painting frame and engine bay.
2. Fuel system assembly and stainless sump tank.
3. Base tune in HPtuners and fire it up!
4. Start building the twin-turbo setup
Also to come:
5. 9 inch rear and custom 4-link
6. Wilwood brakes
7.etc

Looking good.

Question, why twin turbos and not just a single?

Man I struggled with single vs twin for a long time. Ultimately decided on twins for a few reasons.

1. Street car only
2. Want quick, snappy throttle response over top end speed
3. Want instant spool and full boost early in RPM range
4. Each turbo only does half the work, so presumably they would last longer.
5. When running twins you can grind the cam more like an N/A motor. A little more duration and less LSA, for more of a lumpy muscle car idle like one would expect in a 69 Camaro.
6. Twins will look f'in badass when the hood is up at car shows

Yes twins will be badass, all the points you made are exactly what you will see from twins over a large single.

Thanks. Any comments on the turbos I mentioned for this build?

This might help. I run only a stock 5.3. Here are some videos with PTE 62/62's. The cam is in my signature. I liked this cam because it gave it an idle that still sounded a little lumpy and old school until the turbo's kicked in.

This is our first time tuning it and 5lbs of boost on E85 and No intercooler.

Here is my first test drive after a base tune. It spools INSTANTLY on the street and still ran some great numbers at the track. I think a set of 67's would spool the same on an 6.0. I think your 60's will be a little too small. My 62's also were t4 with a .58 ar though.

Here is a pass at the track but we were having some problems building boost at that time so it left like a dog but then ran damn hard. This is a 1/8th mile pass. Still working the bugs out. I think this might be the idle you are looking for. This is with exhaust.

I then went to twin 70's with a .68 AR. It has a little lag on initially but pulls way harder and is a beast on the highway. Here is some local driving. Track isn't open yet.

These are all on a stock 5.3 and I am surely pushing over 800 to the wheels. My car is almost 4,000lbs. I think you would like this cam. It keeps the old school sound while driving around. Once you get on it it sounds like a jet!

Wow dude, that thing is Wicked!!! Thanks for sharing the vids! Sorry I've been busy and slow on the updates, but I'll post up some more pics tonite. I'm ready to buy turbos now, but still on the damn fence

So billet 6067 might be too small on the 6.0, and twin 70s might be a little too laggy for me. So who makes something in the middle?

By the way, I already got my engine together. The cam is a custom twin-turbo grind. Here's the whole build so far:

Goals
Car is a 1969 Camaro, street/show. Street car only, no drags or hard launches. 18in wheels, pro-touring setup. Want near instant spool, lower in RPM range and sharp throttle response. Parts below should support 800+rwhp but dyno numbers aren't the priority. Priority is insane hp/tq for street shredding, drift, autocross type stuff. Not high speed 1/4 mile runs.

Engine
Forged iron-block 370, 9.8cr, stock 317 heads, lunati dual springs, comp pushrods, trunion upgrade, LS9 gaskets, ARP main & head studs, ls6 intake with ported & polished TB(cable), built 4l80e, billet input shaft & forward hub, Transgo HD2 kit, (stock setup, no trans brake), 10 inch billet converter with 2600 brake stall, 3200 flash. Twin-turbo cam grind 231/236 .598/.610 112+6.

Fuel
E85 with 1000cc bosch injectors.
Twin bosche 044 external pumps, twin -8 teflon lines (from tank to each stainless filter/pump) into single -10 to the front, and split back to 2 -8s into billet rails, aeromotive boost ref regulator (13101).

Wiring
01 Truck PCM & Harness (blue & red)
2 Pins added for Fans 1 & 2
1 Pin added for Wideband O2 on EGR input (0-5v)
2 Pins added for 4l80e front VSS
2 Pins swapped on main trans connector for 4l80e

Turbos
Looking at Comp billet 6067 (60mm billet compressor, 67mm turbine) T4 .82ar (or maybe .68?)
Or Precision billet 6262CEA (ball bearing, .82ar vband input/output)
Or ...? Need help here!

Drivetrain (not purchased yet)
Planning ford 9in, 31 spline, tru-track
Or Strange S60 35 spline
Gears somewhere in 3.23 - 3.55 range
Chromemoly or aluminum driveshaft
335/30/18 street tires (drag radial 26" diameter)
Wilwood brakes
03 Cobra mustang hydroboost

Tune
2.5 bar
