Stupid question but, what purpose does this second cable serve? It was hanging disconnected to the throttle and the only place it seems to connect to is a *** hanging off the throttle. It just barely clips on so I'm not sure what to do with it honestly.

The car runs fine without it connected, but it just hanging there has got me interested.

 

That would be your cruise control/traction control cable.

 

go over to the left of the battery is their a thing the size of a beer can ? if so thats traction control .

 

Well that explains why its disconnected, as I don't have an ASR button in the car.

So having it disconnected will also disable cruise control?

 

its cruise. if you disconnect it your cruise control will not work

 

The cruise control module is under your driver side fuse boxes. You can still have cruise control if your car didn't come with traction control. Traction control cars only have one line anyways

 

What babbage said, the throttle cable runs from the gas pedal to the traction control box, then to the throttle body
