turbo sizing definition!! Excuse my slow learning! but when you say you have a 88mm turbo or a 76m ect what is that referring to? what wheel
I have a bws366
Wheel Dimensions:
Compressor: 66 mm inducer / 91.4mm exducer, with exclusive Extended Tip Technology.
Turbine: 80 mm inducer / 73 mm exducer. Cast in Inconel 713 for high-temperature operation.
is that a 80 mm or a 66 mm!!

I'm am far from a turbo exspert, but have been using and around them for a while. Usually when talking about the mm of a turbo it's referring to the inducer size of the compresser wheel. So you have a 66mm turbo. Bw units are pretty easy to identify by there numbers. Like yours is a 366. The 3 Stands for 300 series, and the 66 stands for 66mm. Hope that helps a little.

Yes, when people say they have a 70mm, they're talking about the inducer of the compressor wheel. When turbos are said 7675 or 6266 the beginning refers to the inducer of the compressor wheel and the exducer of the turbine wheel. So for comparison's sake, yours is a 6673. It's important to take turbine size into consideration and not just worry about compressor size. Not only will too small a turbine limit top end power but it also won't have enough energy to max out the compressor wheel. For example, the cheap 76mm's floating around the last several years with tiny p-trim (65mm turbine) backsides aren't capable of making anywhere near the same power as a 7675.

Thanks for the reply, I've been a bit concerned as i've set my car up for a single s366, what my tuner recommended, i do trust what he says tho! and everybody on here seems to have bigger turbo's, i got to keep remembering that im not building a drag car, but a stump puller as such!
Remember, Precision and others rate the turbine wheel using the exducer (75) where Borg Warner rates them using the inducer. So that S475 with a 83mm turbine wheel actually has almost the same size wheels as the PT unit with a 75mm exducer.

5.7lt, manual, wont bulk torque to move the 37" tires. and wanna be able to go to the drags with the boys just for fun, i know the setup is proven my tuner got the following tune in an auto (Commodore) GTO similar vehicle
