I make all my own parts. Axles are in the car, just havent gotten around to making the mount for the diff yet. Should only take a few hours to design the front mounts and will take 2 minutes to design the rear mount.

I like C5's, almost bought an 04 Z06 before buying my S2K. The fact is though, they have crap interior and the prices just keep falling on them. Compare the original MSRP of an 00 C5 to an 00 S2K, and then compare the current prices of the same cars. I was checking out a C6 yesterday and the interior was much better, it would atleast be better trade value for your car.

Pics from last Saturday. My Cousin Cory took the shots of it.

Got some new Nitto Drag Radials and went for a cruise to the local Grocery store...Did some tuning on the way home! Flat A/F ratio, with another 1.75 deg of timing added now. Still don't have traction in 2nd on the street, but 3rd pulls like hell!

Decided its time to man up and get a good differential. Started to look into IRS kits and there just to expensive for a cheap as like me. Instead of spending the money I did research and found a differential that would fit great in the space I have.

It is a solid axle 8.8 Ford differential out of a late 90's Explorer. They come in 4.11 and 3.73 gears which I want/need a 3.73 so that fits me great. The length is shorter than my irs hub to hub but I want my wheels in a little bit to compensate for my offset I have already. They come with a Trac-lock LSD setup also, including 31 spline axles. All for $150 at the local salvage yard.

The differential will be held in by a Jegster 4 link setup. I will have very short bars but will be a solid setup.

I have asked and asked and asked the few people who have solid axle setups in S2K's for a little info, maybe some pics, a direction to go, where to start and got nothing but negativity. No one will share any direction to go, so I'm purposely making sure I take every pic I can to help anyone interested in doing the swap.

The differential after a little cleaning.

The old unit and frame out. I will be using the frame so it is all bolt in. Nothing will be welded to the body itself. I am trying to use the stock location for shocks too, that way I don't have to buy more new shocks!!!

Got some more stuff going the last week. All of the brackets cut and ready to go. Link bars are threaded and ready too!!!

Removed the stock fuel tank. Think its best to do for clearance purpose. Not to much to switch to a fuel cell anyway. And!!!! I get to get all that good weight of the fuel all the way to the rear now!

Now some grinding and tack welding to check everything out!

Also, the stock axles and diff are for sale if anyone needs them. Cheap!!!!

Considering this swap but I have a few questions. What are you using for EMS? AEM?

Have you had any issues with the set up yet? No structural twisting or anything from cutting in the engine bay?

About how much, round about, would you guess this swap has cost you?

And what numbers do you put down?

On the ground under its own power! Gonna take it to work and have my students align it and put in the new.....Well I'll leave that for another date! The silver bullet is ready for some business though!

We would be myself and the other auto instructor here at school. We bought 4 for the school(Mount on run stands and get rid of some of the SBC stuff) and 4 for our use.

At work with it now. My students are going to build my new engine and install it all.

Engine torn down to short block and cam installed. Back together when springs are installed and studs arrive.

More fun stuff will arrive shortly and pics will keep coming!
