I have decided that the T4 kit will work just fine for what I want, I know it will get 650 or so to the tires. I just don't want to cut into the car and do a bunch of fab work, which is needed for a T6, it is really just a street/strip car not a drag car. I just got to decide which platform a iron 346 or 370 engine, both should get me to the 600+ mark pretty easy

Was it a truck manifold kit, down pipe size, engine size, trans, rearend?
Did you ever take that setup to the strip, if so what times
If you don't mind sharing that info , you can pm me you want either way is fine

348 9.5:1 one truck manifold one c6 manifold to keep ac. Ported 241 heads, stock ls6, intake and tb,small turbo cam,4l60e with 3600stall,9 inch rear with 325 gears. Went 10.4 with a 1.5 60ft,3800lbs race weight. The one thing i didn't like is it not making power past about 5200rpm. That's what happens with the small turbo. I would recommend you get at least the tc with the 75mm turbine

I now have a 370 and kind wish i Kept it a 348. If you have space limits and have to run a smaller turbo go with the smaller engine. It will make more power due to less back pressure

No matter what engine size I pick , I am going to go with the biggest turbo that will fit on the kit. Like the comp 78/79 or the one of new turbonectis like the 76/75. But it sounds like a iron ls1 will meet or exceed my goals. But I would still like the extra cubes of the 370. Still undecided

Spoke with ArchEnemy on the phone yesterday for a while discussing his setup. We discussed the best options for his goals and wants out of the car would be to stay with a t4 kit so he can keep the car as in tact as possible. With this for his goals I recommend the comp 7879 for turbonetics 7675 with a 347. Will make the power he wants with some room to grow and he won't battle the back pressure issues as he would with more cubes. The beauty of boost is you don't need the cubes to make power. A properly specd combo on a 347 can still make a ton of power, especially for a street car! A bigger motor just requires a bigger turbo, which in most cases means a lot more work to the vehicle to physically fit that larger turbo. With very realistic goals over 600-800 horsepower, a 346 with a nice t4 is a terrific setup for packaging!

A lot of these smaller turbine'd engines you guys are seeing falling off so soon also do not have the correct cam timing events and overlap figures for the turbo they are running, thus choking the housing out and not allowing it to breathe upstairs.
I've been playing around with some big single turbo stuff lately that always has inherent backpressure issues(I'm talking 427+ cubic inches with a single turbo) and the same issues arise in set-ups like this. There are ways to work around the backpressure issues with overlap and valve events and I've found a few tweaks can be done here and there to allow the engine to breathe up top even with the backpressure issues. Backpressure is drive pressure and drive pressure is what spools the turbo.
Now, would a T6 turbo with a 96mm+ wheel big fancy fabricated DP, stood up radiator etc. make everything peachy, yes it would....but not everyone wants to do that.
As Jon said, he has a bad *** T6 kit that will work for the guys that do want to go bigger and really make some steam(I'm one of them), but again not everyone is up to the task of doing that. If anyone in this thread has never felt what 700rwhp+ feels like, which a T4 turbo is perfectly capable of doing, they need to try it out. My old 346 LS1 ran 113mph in the 1/8th@3950lbs. with a PT7675 turbo running 16psi...no telling what kind of BP numbers it was seeing. That amount of power was PLENTY for the street and at the track. Some of us just want more.

I will probably go with the iron 5.3 bored to 5.7 , just for block stability, filled with forged internals. Everyone seems to agree I can get to my goals with that cubic inch. When I start to gather parts I will give Tick a call for my cam selection.

Slap a 7675 on it and have martin do you a camshaft with about a 52 evo on a 230 @.050 lobe and call it done.
Get some portwork done to the heads...and a good intake... and you can reach your goal on pump gas.

I agree with LilJohn though, keep it stock bore, take it out to 3.80 if you HAVE to and let it ride with a set of Wiseco Pistons and K1 rods if you want to forge it.

I like that cam. But theres a couple tweaks id make to it. Itd be perfect for a 5.7 with a 7675 though.
When are you gonna quit being overly aggressive with your IVC's and stingy with your overlap?? Even though the stroke is the same... you do have less volume to fill.
Put that stick on a 113+3 or 4.... and id be a proud Obi Wan.
