Here is a quick video I took because I have been so busy as of late. I double checked my logs and this is running on the only spring I have for the gate. It is reaching a 140kpa so I belive that is about 5-6lbs of boost. It feels really good for low boost. I am now ready to get a boost controller and turn it up. Is it best to buy a electronic or just a manual? I did end up hitting the rev limiter a couple times I was watching to many things and not paying attention lol. It should crank pretty good with another 10lbs!

Elec. Is the only way togo you can ramp the power in, vs just letting the turbo spool and hit a wall from the gate opening.

Started out as a nice cruise. Stopped and filled a little e85.

Then It turned into a mess!

Found this about 200 yards from the boom site.

Piston is wedged in #3 sideways, hole in both sides of block, looked as if the rod bolt just let go and it was all down hill from there.

So I am looking for a Short block if anyone has one forsale or knows where the is one? I am thinking probably a 370,402,408 ???

Dang sucks to see it do out that quickly. The 370/pt88 combo seems to be making some nice numbers lately...

This all happened on only 7lbs, at 6800. It looks like the rod bolt snapped on one side and then it wanted out. I knew it was going to happen just didn't think it was going to happen so quick. Maybe a torque mess up? Not really sure. So sounds like the best bet is a 370 short block. Don't know if I should build one, buy one, new, used? Just looking to get it up and running on a short block that will handle 20lbs and have fun. What kind of money do you think a person is looking at to get something of my description?

G-damn ouch. This was on e85 and stock rod bolts?
I must be on borrowed time, 21psi on a 99 5.3 stock bottom end with rod bolts.
I have a great 6.0 block for a 30 over if interested?

Yes this was on e85 and stock rod bolts. I knew that the stock rod bolts were the weak point. So Im not mad just though that they would hold a lot more then that haha. I am looking at another 6.0 in town on Tuesday I will let you know how it goes.

Id look into a 370 or even a 390...
Which ever one you choose I'd definitely install some ARP Rod Bolts and Main Studs.

Just a little update, I have been so busy as of late. But anyway I did find a really nice complete lq9 long block. So Its all tore down and I have an appointment with my engine builder at the end of this month. It will be a 370 with CP forged pistons, Callies rods, Martin from Tick sent me a custom spec'd cam, comp lifters, 317 heads, BT dual springs, stock crank, It will have ARP head studs again with ls9 gaskets, That should get me a little further then the last setup. All parts are here just waiting on builder. I will try and keep it updated as it goes. Happy Friday everyone!

Glad to see you got another engine so quickly. What is the going rate for a .30 over bore on a 6.0 block?

20.00 a hole is what they charge to bore.
