Ok so this week I sold my n/a 10 sec gen 1 sbc and am moving to the LS world and turbos. I found a pair of 70mm Garrett turbos, piping, intercooler etc for a real good deal locally and was wondering what kinda motor I would need to support those turbos? Originally I was planning on doing a LQ9 block, cam, heads, rod bolts head studs etc and was going to find a turbo to match that combo. My goal is 800ish on 93 octane. What do you guys think? Doable, or am I going to have to make more N/A horsepower to support those two turbos. I want twins simply for the look and this deal seems to good to pass up.
My other idea is to go blow through carb... Any major pro's or cons to going that route.
Thanks

I don't have a problem throwing a good set of head and head gaskets on the motor, but unsure of how much that would lower my compression depending on what size heads I got. It's an s10 with manual valve body TH400 that sees the street and the strip.

If you can get the turbo setup for a good price, I'd say go for it. A 6.0L should spool them pretty good. Is there a transbrake in the trans? I will be running twin 67mm on the 5.3L in my s10. If I'm not happy with the spooling, trans brake will go in and a boost refencing nitrous setup. I also had my cam spec'd for my setup also.

Yea it does have a transbrake. It's an awesome deal I think, twin Garrett 70mm turbos and waste gates, two intercoolers, meth injection system, oil lines etc posted for $2000
