I gotta ask...are those 862 heads on there? can't really tell from the pics.

I also like how you did the sump on the fuel tank, I'll probably have to do similar on mine..

Yep they are junk 862, only used them because they came with the motor. For the sump i just used a competition engineering sump kit, put the holes in the tank, and had Chris tig weld it together. Let me know when you are ready to do yours and we can talk about it, there may be better options for you.

Time for 243's

Thanks man! From what I understand old Blazer tanks would fit between my frame rails and they've already got the in tank pump, so I haven't made up my mind for sure yet. Decisions, decisions...

It worked out really well for me but the cold side routing can become a little hairy depending on if you are running an intercooler or not

Thanks that was me, nice pictures. I am real happy with the setup, it was only together about a month before i went to Holley LS fest (made 15 passes) followed up immediately by Drag week (1200 miles and another 15 passes) and had no real problems with the car at all. i will have the cage done this winter so next summer i will crank up the boost and find out what it can really do. This years best was 10.61 @ 115 in the 1/4 on the brakes and trying not to break out in my LSX rumble class. It went 6.61 @104 on that pass with a 1.65 60 on 10-11 lbs. I am leaving on the foot brake at around 3 lbs, so it come out real soft then start pulling. Great job on the stuff you have been putting together, its awesome what you have done. I am a dyi guy myself and think this junkyard stuff is tough to beat. I am curious what your measured boost curve looks like on the stuff you have built using the XS power wg's. My boost pressure typically spikes at the top of first gear, then drops around 5 lbs before building linear with the rpm again in the next two gears.

That sir is a sweet looking 2 gen.

I love the 70/73 body style, owned 5 of them over the years.

Two 70's, one a Z28 RS the other a SS 396.

One 71 RS with a 427 rat.

One 72 Pro Street that I never got to finish.

Two 73's, one Z28 with a doug nash 5 speed and the other a 350 RS.

Really wish I had a couple of them back.

I literally just traded for a very nice 70 split bumper. I'm wanting to put a ls turbo in it and possibly use the Muncie. Any clue if that will mate with an adapter? Also exactly what truck manifolds are u using? I'm really digging this ride! Mine will just be a street hot rod that I take to cruise ins.

Cars looking great man.
I just posted on Nasty actually a couple minutes ago about instrument clusters. Was wondering what your plans are? I would like to keep the stock look just have to figure out how to get the tach and speedo working. Anyone make a cluster to work with these LS swaps for cars like ours? Mine is an 80 btw.

Funny you should mention the Muncie mated to an LS. My issue for Car Craft just arrived in the mail about 2 days ago. THere is an article on this. Havent read the article yet but looks to be pretty in depth. Only thing i see just taking a quick look is one of the sources for the article is Keisler Engineering. They just filed for bankruptcy.

Looks great man glad to see a nice swap instead of all these LS Mustangs around. I'm building a 70 1/2 Camaro and thinking about doing a Turbo in there but havent decided yet.

Thanks for the compliment. Sounds like you got a sweet car. These 2nd gens are great to work with and a blast to drive. The bell housing of the muncie will bolt up to the LS block with no adapters but i am sure you will need a specific flywheel and pilot bushing for that swap. The muncie may not be a good choice only due to its HP limitations. On low boost (10-15 lbs) most LS combos can make 500-700 RWHP and that is plenty to wreck that muncie if you hook hard. The truck manifolds i used are off a 2005 chevy truck, but i think most the truck configs are the same. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.
