I plan on fabricating a factory style instrument cover since my original plastic one if cracked by a few of the bolt holes. I am thinking aluminum with maybe a black textured paint to look kinda stock. I am going to using all electric autometer gauges (not sure which series yet) and use electric senders to feed them. The holley efi has a lead for the tach signal and i am not sure which route i am going to go on the speedo. Do you have an LS setup in your 80 already.

Where did you mount your turbo at on your setup.

LOL, definately makes it easy to work on. That is one thing i love about the truck manifolds, 5 minute plug swaps. Thanks for the compliments, your car was an inspiration to go this route for chris (silver_82) and my self when we ditched out sbc's. I am cant wait for spring so i can get a 9 out of it.

Lol, that is the thing about Mustangs, the easiest way to make them fast is to put a chevy under the hood. Go with the turbo on the 70, there is lots of room to make it happen.

This is the exact build I have been planning out for my 71 T/A.

The only issue Im running into is I cant run a cowl hood, because I want to keep the shaker. Soooooo I dont think the truck intake will fit.

Wow looks awesome! Is the crossover regular 16awg 2" OD Stainless? Whats the spool like on that turbo? I'm tempted to look into the t6 1.10a/r version. Hard to beat the price.

Lol, definately keep that shaker. any of the lower car style intakes will work great for you. i went with the truck intake originally because it was free, but now it has really grew on me. its nice because i can run my fuel return and breather lines under it.

Yes it is. It spools pretty well on the street for what it is. the boost comes on around 3400. i have a 4k converter which helps get it there, even with the 3.08 in the back. for the price these turbos are hard to beat.

Maybe I missed it but did you chose not to use an intercooler?

Also, I had a 1972 Firebird. I should have kept it. Loved these body styles. Oh how I long to put a turbo LSx into it now...

yeah, i bought a cheap ebay one and decided not use it. the e85 helps but iat temps are typically 280 at the end of the track. so i just pull timing and deal with it. this year i may go water/meth or try to wrap the intake charge pipe to help insulate it. these 2nd gen f bodys are great and becoming really popular.

Yeah for once I'm trying to stay on a budget and with this being a street car I'd really like to keep the Muncie there bc it came with the cat and it's new. I'd also like to run inner cooler any chance of that with this set up? I just put aa american auto wire haness on so I'm guessing u used a psi harness with pedal and PCM? I'd love to have mid 550-600 rwhp on a street car with great manors. I guess I'll talk with reed at BW to get his suggestion. What's the diameter of your single cold side down exhaust pipe?

There is plenty of room to run an IC i just ran out of time to fab the setup that way before drag week last year. For a harness and ECM i am using Holley's HP kit and use a cable TB so stock pedal is still in place with a lokar cable. My cold side is 3", you can get the kits off of ebay for a little over $100.

Did you use '10 or newer water pump from a Camaro to get the outlet on the driver's side? Is it still using the rest of the truck brackets/accessories?

Yes it is a ls3 pump with truck alt bracket and truck balencer. I am making a nice billet bracket for the alternator right now to replaced the hacked original.

Did you have your mig set up for stainless when you did the manifolds?

The only part of my hotside that was mig welded was the passenger side manifold where I graphed the stainless pipe to the manifold. It was welded with mild steel wire, and the rest of my system was tig welded.

That's exactly what I needed to know. I'm cutting up my stock exhaust manifolds right now for a LS turbo swap. Thanks for all the help man, your car is definitely an inspiration to me.

HA!! My car is almost a twin of yours. 73, E85, but Whipple and 4l80E. I doubt mine will run with yours though. Whipple 2.3 @ 13 lbs,, 6 liter with 10.5 comp, BTR 3 blower cam, 2" headers, E85, 3K Yank, Ford 9" w/ 3.70 gear. Stop light fun! Still working on tune and gremlins. Track this spring.
