Default Cam choice / turbo choice for solid roller 409CI max effort

APE is building my 409CI motor and custom single turbo kit. I am going solid roller and pretty much max effort. The car will see limited street use (TH350 trans) but I still want to be able to drive to work (12 miles) etc.

What size turbo, what cam specs.......I know what we are thinking but I'd like to see the opinion here.

101mm turbo
260 ish* at .050 duration cam
lift in the .650 region

I dont really know, but that sounds like a kick butt setup for amx effort.

No reason to lift that high in my opinion. Consider contacting EDC (Flowtech).

If high lift is working thats great...more news the better...but folks like corky bell say the opposite.. but maye they were not expecting us to go where we have gone. As more me, I'm in the 570's. I should hit the dyno in 45 days or so if things go good. I imagine the N/S should be the virgin run, though I expect the "best view" there anyway, it'll be fun.

While corky bell is very smart, cam development has come a very long way since his book was written. In corkys day a t88 was the big bad mamma jamma turbo ! The current trend is high lift and slightly bigger than stock duration. It all depends on many factors like head flow, exaust to intake percentage, ect.
