New best on regular $50.00 radials :) Went to the track today to play with around another car, it was a nice 80-85 degree day so I cruised on down in the camaro with the t-tops off. I am sporting some fine turbo tech 'rallye' 255/60/15s on the 15x8 welds, they arent exactly what I would call drag radials by any stretch..
Anyhow, waiting for the other car to cool off a bit I figured I'd borrow a helmet, put the T-tops on and make a blast or two. Put the rear tires at 27psi and gave it a shot. Made 3 hotlaps in 5 minutes and ran an 8.08, 7.82 and 7.76 @ 95.3mph with a 1.980 60' foot. I had to leave the line like I was pulling from a stoplight with a cop next to me and roll in the throttle until I finally floored it right before (well maybe after) it hit the rev limiter in 1st. 2nd gear hits pretty good
I had the full interior in the car, 3/4 of a tank of gas, child seat, a/f set at 11:1 (usual hot weather/pump gas a/f), cats on, stock dual/dual etc so it weighed probably 100lbs more then the way I usually run the car. I could have went for a 7.50 but I figured 3 passes in 5 minutes was enough to make sure the trans I rebuild a couple days ago still worked
