Spool time differences b/t gt4788 and s480
Spool time differences b/t gt4788 and s480 Im about to purchase a turbo, and i can get a gt4788 with a 1.08 A/R , S480 96mm 1.32 A/R or an s480 with a 1.10 A/R and race cover for about the same price. My question is which turbo will spool faster on a stock bottom end ls1 on high comp?

Spool is pretty vague. What's your set up? Cam? M6? A4? A3? What converter? Weight of the car? Gasoline? E85?
All of these are pretty important to get a general idea of how your car may act with a certain turbo.

the car is a H/C/I stock bottom end ls1, th400 with 4900 stall (ill change to a smaller converter) cam is a 228/230 114+ 0 lsa 11:5.1 compression, im panning to run E85.
Need some help out here fellas...i got the guys waiting for an answere..please...also i forgot to add the car eventually will get a 408ci motor. So which of these turbos work for me ?
My build has a s480 (96 w/ 1.32 A/R T6) and I was told my 347 with a th400 would light mine off around 3,500RPM. My car is going is 10.5-1 and on gasoline.
I also plan on building a 408 or 370 next year and I was told by my turbo guy that there are a couple of cars in the 5.3X range (1/8th) that run this turbo, should it should suite my needs just fine, with either power plant.
