We do need to get it to the track! Last time at the track it ran a 10.40 @139mph but that was on the 17s with nittos with the 808hp setup

wow. a tig welder at harbor freight is $200, there is a 5.3 fs on CL at the moment for $550 obo. and i already have truck manifolds sitting in my room. oh the possibilities this year. just looked up the other parts cost. maybe next winter

What exactly is it that makes the 5.3 able to take so much boost just because its an iron block?

Can't wait to see it at the track to see if it backs up the dyno numbers, should go in the 156mph range with the power it has and with another 100rwhp will be looking at over 160mph.

I was thinking more of 149-151 mph traps at that power level. Does it have a Glide and spooled 9 inch or something?

so 996 rwhp is through exhaust out the back? What muffler(s)? Glad I just picked up a pt7675 for my 5.3!

This is what I was wondering. With results like these it is making it harder and harder to keep and turbo my ls1 or just ditch it for a 5.3. So conflicted lol

All the lsx motors can handle the same power.
It's just that 4.8/5.3 are so much cheaper which is why you see a lot of them

It is a 3.5 downpipe back to the tail of the transmission then 4 inch over the axle and a 4inch inlet outlet mufflex

And because they are so cheap, nobody has issue with ramming lots of boost into them. If it breaks, it's a cheap fix.

Plus smaller bores makes for a much stronger block, which helps a bit too.

But, the first pull was either done in forth gear, or the last drop was locking the converter.

Then, on the other pulls right before WOT the cars acts JUST LIKE when we lock the convertor....

what's with that???

It looks like it is locking up, is what I am saying, look at any of our videos on the wagon where we lock the convertor, it has that same bog, and car shake to it.

what's the point in making a lie about it? it makes good power or it dont. I know everyone tries to make their tuner look good but this isn't the first time the producer for this video company has been dumb enough to capture **** on video and claim something else than what the video showed.
