amazing work. How much power can the each mixer deliver? Also have you had to do much tuning to get the AFRs right? what are the correct AFRs for LPG?

Be intresting to see what your IATs are post mixers to! i would guess pretty low.

Each mixer is good for 600hp but each converter is only good for around 350 or so from what I have read. 120mph AT 4500LBS is around 625whp. So I might be getting close to finding the limit soon.I've read that 12.9-13.2 afr is good for propane but we haven't done much testing to verify. It's running at 12.2 afr on a gas scale right now at WOT which is 12.9 propane afr. I haven't done too much for tuning, I just adjust the Power Valve to where ever I want the AFR's at WOT. I'm only running 12deg timing in boost so I probably have some more power to be made. Yes it does smell like your propane BBQ on steroids when I'm boosting on it. lol

Talk to lpe there is a lot of heat with propane schwanns had problems with melting valves and ups semi went to supercharger for that reason.

I have a dump truck on propane. Pretty cool. What kind of mileage are you seeing?

Thanks, The price of propane is getting hammered right now due to a shortage, I was paying $2 a gallon in the summer, right now it's almost $4.00. I don't drive the truck in the winter so I'm hoping the prices go back down by spring. The truck is going to get a re ring and bearing and a new cam for next season.

I was in this truck last summer when a couple of mustangs came up on us. At a light I asked one of the drivers if his car was fast he replied "ya its pretty fast" with a smirk on his face. Turbo D proceeded to pound it and after we had probably 30 cars on the "fast" mustang he let out as we laughed our guts out. We were handed a ricer fly by and the guy wanted a roll race this time. Once again we passed him like he was standing still. I kindly waved as we flew past leaving him in a trail of bad smelling BBQ! He did give us thumbs up as we we went by. I still laugh when I think about how awesome this grandpa truck is.

The re-ringed and bearing'd LQ4 6.0l goes in next week end, has a 216/220 trickflow cam in it with 918 springs, china head studs and 5 layer LS3 gaskets, rebuilt a full automatic th400 with extra clutches, 36 element sprag, pump mods. Hoping I can find the limit of this 80mm magnum.

How did the engine look when it was torn down? Why did you decide to tear it down? Were there any issues?

It pushes water on 19lbs with Stock head gasket/bolts, I am still driving it right now on 10lbs, haven't torn it down yet. It also is a early rod Lq4 in it now and I wanted to upgrade to a LQ4 with the newer style rods. I plan on leaning on it alittle harder, I'd like to make 700whp on however much boost it takes to get there.

did the propane regulators provide enough fuel with the boost reference? How much boost can they handle? I understand LP systems, I just have never used them on turbo engine. Are you still using the same carb/converter set up?

So far they provide enough vapor, alot of this stuff I'm just figuring out as I go, as there is not much out there on the internet. I'd like to find the limit of this stuff just so people know. It still uses to 425 impco mixers and 2 impco model e converters.
