Just do it man. What's the specs on the turbine? Sure it'll take a while to spool but it would be insane when it does! If you don't like it, just sell it and put something else there, the only thing wasted is a little time, but hell I'd do it in a second. Oh btw, if you do decide to sell pm me please

Haha that's sick Ren! What turbo is that?? And Randomnine, I'm not familiar with the g trim or any other trims for that matter lol. Do you know the size in millimeters? Pete91, I think 2" crossover would definitely help him

The turbine for those that are asking is 132mm on a G-trim. If you can get a 1.0 AR housing for it, you'll be on your way to help making it work.
The only problem is if this is a stock short block 5.3, then you won't be able to fit the cam you really need for this thing in there with stock pistons.
I have a customer doing a 5.3 with a S500-94 with a 112mm turbine, but that turbo is dwarfed in comparison to a thumper sized unit.
I can help you out, but it's not going to be easy! It will take careful parts selection, tweaks to the stall and compression/RPM is your friend with a set-up like this.
BTW most GT91's have a 94mm turbine wheel and the largest turbine wheel you can get is a 97mm wheel which is a lot smaller than a 130mm turbine the PT106 has.
I would also use a 2" cross over, 2.25" MAX.

ditching the 106 is not an option, as i said before this will be going on something built down the road, and i really appreciate everyone's feed back about this setup.

It'll work . you'll have to spray it to get it on the boost but when it comes in it will be nasty! My friend has a outlaw 10.5 car and he took his race motor out last winter and stuck a 4.8 in behind his 106mm that he races just for fun.. all I gotta say is its pretty amazing how much power these motors make. He never could blow it up he finally took it out when race season came around.

Here's a vid of a GT91/5.3 (filming from inside truck)... wasn't laggy from what I remember when I rode in it.

Run the 106! might be a little laggy, but nothing a little 50 or 100 shot can't fix.

That truck had a forged 6.0 in it when he raced the gt500

2.25" cross over would help now and be big enough for down the road. I would set up a single nozzel nitrous setup and spray 100 shot in the brake and turn the nitrous off at say 6psi with a hobbs switch, the turbo should take over just fine from there. (only use a little nitrous this way too). Good luck man, I like the "different" setup. Good or bad, its unique.
