Default PT106 and 5.3L stock?????

I am simply trying to get some feed back on my situation as i have acquired a 106 and a 5.3 really at the same time, both for cheap, knowing this would be a dog, but seeing that anything is possible now, so really my question to you all is what might i really look into, a little nitrous, cam, or is it even feasible... well to me this insane really kinda honda'ish if you ask me....

That a huge unit on a 5.3. Spraying it will definitely help spool it, and when it's on tilt, it'll be on tilt! =) Where in the Central Valley are you?

I say try it and see what happens. If it works its gonna be awesome, and if it doesn't then sell it and buy something more appropriate lol.

They put those turbos on 3.0L 2JZ's.....Cant imagine it wouldn't work on a 5.3....Just be a little spool time....Talk to Martin @ Tick.....He could probably help a lot with a cam for that setup.....

BTW.....I would love to see it.

Running a PT88 on a 5.3 is a small bit of lag for me, a 106mm .....wooooh . Like the others said, use nitrous to help spool it and when it's lit it will be like a sledge hammer to your backside

depends on what wheel it has, if its an F-trim it is possible with a big exhaust lobe and some nitrous for sure, If its a full G-trim, not so much

More then 1000 RWHP
An 88 should push 1000 RWHP without an issue.....

I'd try and trade it for something, like an S475 + cash on their end. A 106 is just too big for a 5.3L. Someone said something about 2Js, you have to remember that they are buzzing to 9+K RPM.

ditch the 106. it will make the power. but it will only make it after it gets in the high rpm. your going to want the power to come on and stay on. nothing worse than seeing the supra guys claiming 1000whp and then seeing the dyno and it spools at 7 grand and spikes the dyno. then they go to the track and do a 1.8 60 foot ...and run a 10.90 with a stupidly high trap.

thanks everyone for their input so far, I knew this turbo was going to be way too much for this engine, but at the same time im so curious to see what it will do. Plus everything will be in place when I do decide to go bigger cube..

Thatta boy. Give it a whirl and see what happens! You'd be surprised what a 50 shot will do to get that thing moving!

well if 106 is the way your going, get a 2 step, and one hell of a stall assuming your auto. Get some good tire behind it, and prepare for some major crazy when that thing comes on. jesus.

Just do it man. What's the specs on the turbine? Sure it'll take a while to spool but it would be insane when it does! If you don't like it, just sell it and put something else there, the only thing wasted is a little time, but hell I'd do it in a second. Oh btw, if you do decide to sell pm me please
