Gonna be a another awesome Fairmont. Fairmonts are becoming more and more popular.I've had one for 6 years now and people still don't know what kinda car it is. But it works good.I thought I was the only one that liked fairmonts!

Ordered a couple air to water intercoolers 4.5" thick core 3 1/2 inlet/ outlet I'm going to weld them together and make a two in one out like parish did on his truck way back when.

Haha yeah. Thank you for all the info, videos, and write ups you share with fellow hot rodders if it wasn't for your fairmont I would of never of thought to build one. A lot people I know don't understand, or even give me crap on why I would build a ugly 1982 fairmont. Ill just have to give them a good ol complementary "fairmont challenge" ride along, and that will change there tune. Budget sleeper builds are the best in my book.

So I finally got a chance to work on the rear end a little bit. Took the 8.8 apart to install spool, But I found a chip in the corner of one of the teeth. Would it hurt to run this ring, and pinion? It's a 2.73 ratio, which might be nice for freeway cruising, but could maybe hurt it at the track. There was a few small pieces of metal on the magnet in the rear end housing that where from the chip in the ring gear. No major damage that I can see except for the chipped tooth. What's everyone think. Should I go lower gear ratio, or just run it?

I'm going to be running 255/60/15 DRs they are 27" tall, and the 80e has a .750:1 ratio in O/D so 2.73s would be nice for highway cruising, but I think they also might bring my 1/4mile trap Rpm down quite a bit.

Looking good. I think you'll be alright with those 273's ive had a few turbo cars with that gear and they have all worked good.i've had some 140mph trap speeds with 273's.

Here is some updates on my build I have all the five lug stuff off the 94 mustang installed... I used the stock control arms with the 94 spindles, rotors, calipers and brake lines on the front, and got the spooled 8.8 all mounted..
Last weekend I tore down the 4.8 that I'm going to be using in this car to fix #7 piston that popped the ring land about a year ago in a boosted truck that I use to own. Engine looks great! No other damage done than just the chip in the too of the piston the head has a few nicks in it, but nothing to bad to worry about.

Got the 80e all drained and ready to install the Hd2 shift kit.
