Yes, they quiet it down. I have been running open with a 2ft down pipe out the side by my tires for the last 3 months. I just got the idea when Denmah posted this so I thought I would try the bullets since I have them. I like the sound with the bullets waaaaay better than the open.. Driving around it sounds like a Jet getting ready for take off. I am blown away how quiet it is.......until you rape it!

I would have to measure lenght but somewhere around 18-24"

The Dynomax Bullets are pretty cheap. I promise you will absolutely love the sound. This is the best my car has ever sounded. The video doesn't do it justice because of the damn phone. They sound like a good deep flowmaster without the high pitch "rasp" that comes with it when you drive it. That ringing/loud annoying vibe you get when driving a flowmaster doesn't exist with the bullet. On my big block these mufflers made it sound like it was still open header. On my turbo car it sounds like a Jet engine.....no kidding!

Wicked69, that sounds sweet!

I really struggle with whether the large body oval Magnaflow mufflers quiet things down a little too much.... I guess if my wife is in the car I like the large body Magnaflow because then she isn't bitching about how loud my car is, and if she isn't in the car I'd probably prefer something like your setup.

Maxflows will be quietest and not lose you power. I've got bullets then xr1's then maxflows on my ltd, the maxflows definitely quiet it down the most, we saw no mph gain at 4000+ lbs and 144mph with running open exhaust vs through the 6 mufflers.

I ran one of these in the I-pipe with a GMMG, but could easily use these for the complete system. Sounded wicked (no cats) with an APS spooling up

Could always "Y" into a 4" cutout then use the OEM muffler?

Or you could use 2 cheap 60mm WG's for exhaust cutouts, then they would "auto open" while in boost.

A guy on honda-tech (can you mention those words on here? Lol) used a bit throttle body a while ago to rig up a boost referenced cutout that seemed to work well. I can't remember if he was using electronics or some sort of a pressure actuated mechanical linkage though... It was cool.

Skinnies... Do you happen to have an idle clip of the ltd with the six mufflers? I'm curious to hear how quite that set up is. I'm wanting to do something similar on my fairmont build.

That is quiet and sounds good. I have Vibrant Race mufflers on my twin set-up. You can barely talk in the car driving down the road. I will try to post a video in the next few days.

Hell, throw a 20$ 3" thrush glasspack or a $30 3" magnaflow bullet on it and call it a day! I'm sure just about any straight through muffler will still hinder power a tiny amount, but probably not enough to notice. You could always put cutouts on it for the track like some of the other guys have said.
