I vote you go with a newer 4.8 from a scrapyard. Swap you components and go. Your build is great and alot of inspiration for alot of people. I think alot of people who doubt the 4.8 need this to give them that extra push to try it out. Just sayin.

Glad you are ok and something worse didnt happen. THat really is the main thing.

I agree, the upgraded stock rod should do wonderes esp with that setup and the tune you have. and I SECOND the 3 bar map if your not running one.

Don't waste the time going forged. I say gen IV rods and slap it back together. On my 5.3L I couldn't get the gen 3 rods to stay straight past 685whp I would said you did good. I really would like to see how much gen IV rod in a 4.8L would hold. I bet it will hold over 1000whp with the good rod ratio of that shorter stroke. good luck man I look forward to seeing where you go from here.

Setup is:
TMS iron 347 Callies/Diamond/factory crank studded
FI's S480 with race cover, 92mm turbine 1.0 a/r
TickPerformance/Martin Spec'ed Cam
Factory new 317's with a Edlerbrock ProFlo on top

Still want 9's at 4580 street/boat pulling trim and the same HP the 4.hate made.

Snds like a stout combo. Should have said something I have same turbo and thinking about selling it. Got it for a local class and they changed rules to 76 mm... That turbo makes 25psi on my lq4 and is alredy murdering the gt76 by 20
