L33 5.3, S475 turbo build!
OK finally starting my build and started buying parts. I would like guys with a little more experience with thurbos to critque my setup before I go much further. Here is what I have and would like some input on gear selection also. The car is a 1995 Transam street/strip build that will be 3,000-3,100lbs with driver, TH400 or Powerglide havent decided, Fab 9" rear with anitrollbar. The car has a BMR K-memeber, BMR upper and lower a-arms, no A/C, drag brakes up front and the cowl has been trimmed back to the windshield so clearance will be a non issue. The car also has a chrome moly 8.50 legal cage.
1. 2007 L33 aluminum 5.3 shortblock
2. Ported 853 casting heads with Tooley valkve springs.
3. LS6 cam for now may change that before it goes into the car.
4.Trailblazer SS intake with 90mm throttle body.
5. S475 turbo T6 flange
6. truck manifolds facing forward.
7. 4" downpipe with cutout then 3.5" to muffler under car.
8. Alky/water injection, no intercooler.
9. 80# injectors
10. Microsquirt for fuel and ignition duties.
11. LS9 headgaskets
11. wastegate and blowoff valve
I currently have 3.73's in the aluminum 9" center but was thinking of dropping to 3.27-3.50 gear becaquse the car will be running 28" tall 325/50/15" drag radials on 15x10" rims. My goal is to run 8.80's-9.00's with this setup and still be able to drive to car shows etc... What am I missing or would you guys change up on this setup.
