4.8 turbo questions My cousin is fixing to start on his 4.8 turbo project. He bought my turbo stuff since i've decided to go back stock. Here's a list of what he has so far.
4.8 stock
Turbonetics HP76 w/ 1.15 AR ex.
80 lb. injectors
Intercooler.
He wants it to have a choppy idle so it has some sound and make over 550 rwhp on pump gas. Can that be done and still work effeciently? He's looking at a cam a buddy has for this setup. Here's the spec's. 224 224 .595 .610 on a 115. Will this cam work good? He's doing this on the cheap. Also, what about the ebay head studs? Are they any good. I know cheap & turbo don't go together, lol. I told him put the 4.8 in, bolt on the turbo setup, tune it, & run the crap out of it.
So, here's a few questions.
1. what kind of cam does he need, leave the stock cam in it?
2. put head studs in it, arp head bolts, or leave it alone?
3. head gaskets, leave it stock, LS9, cometics?
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

what year 4.8 motor? im in the process of buildin a similar setup running kmj headstuds that a lot of guys have proven good and mls headgaskets which I had to find because I have notch 862 heads and cant use the standard gaskets which plenty of guys run the standard ls1 gaskets for 30 bucks for the set. Also might want to look into a basic set of valve springs pac for like $130ish or say brain tooleys for i think 209 shipped because your probably going to run into valve float
