windowed block ??
windowed block ?? Looking for some info on sbe failure points. I have no problem pushing a sbe 5.3/5.7/6.0..etc to it breaking point, I just dont want to put oil under the tires !!
So all you guys who have hurt/broke a sbe motor, what and where were the failures points ?? Has anyone windowed the block, pan or had oil containment problems ??
140mph+ at the track with a sbe have any of you considered a diaper ??

Most common failure point I've ever seen around here is breaking ring lands out of stock pistons. A couple rod snaps here and there but for the most part in boosted applications the piston lets go first
Yeah, the one I've seen are popped piston tops and broken ringlands. It would suck to put your 30K car in the wall because of a $500 dollar engine.
