Where to mount proflow bypass valve?
Where to mount proflow bypass valve? Can I mount it anywhere in the piping or is there spots better than others? I have the cx racing intercooler kit if that helps?
I have always been told to mount it before the intercooler if possible. The idea is to keep the intercooler temps down during part throttle by not sending the air through the cooler and then bypassing it to the atmosphere. I did this on my twin cooler kit and I'm going to mount it before the front mount cooler here in a week or 2 when I get the motor back in my car.
I would weld a pipe to the charge pipe that's the same size as the bottom of that valve and use a straight silicone coupler to attach. I would want to remove it if i had too.
If you do end up welding it to the charge pipe I would at least disassemble the valve to weld. Aluminum soaks up heat fast when welding.
